Unimas and Golden Circle sign MoU

KUCHING: The Centre ofExcellence for Renewable Energy (CoERE) of University Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) and Golden Circle Venture Sdn Ilhd (G(, V) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (Moll) for co-operation in the field of renewable energy yesterday.

"CoERE was established in 2009 by Unimas as a designated centre located at the Faculty of Engineering under the leader- ship of Associate Prof. Dr Azhaili Baharun.
"The Faculty has numerous laboratories that include ener- gy laboratory, solar laboratory, mechanical workshop, material testing workshop and others that are able to assist in the research and development (R & D) e centre focuses on critical R & D, consulta- tion and community services for the application of technologies with emphasis on hydro-electric (micro-hydro) power, solar energy,
hybrid biomass, tidal wave and wind energy sources, " Dr Mohamad Kadim Suaidi said.

"We believe that the pertner- ship will help us to strengthen our business position in developing our future abundant source of energy in Malaysia and Sarawak in particular. "

With the signing of the MoIJ, Unimas and Golden Circle Venture will be able to plan their co-opera- tion in the renewable energy field.
Each party will endeavour to take the necessary steps to encourage and promote cooperation in the following areas;
