Unimas students' council to hold convention on Feb 25
KUCHING: Unimas Students Representative Council will be holding a two-day `National
Politics and Patriotism: The Actual Direction' convention from Feb 25 at Detar Putra of the
university here.
The convention aims to encourage scholars to uphold the spirit of patriotism towards the country through `scholastic
spirit'. In addition, the programme also aim to analyse the real political scenario in the country
as related to patriotism.
In a press release issued to The Borneo Post yesterday, it said that
the programme which adapts to the contemporary and forward
looking concept could become a paradigm shift for scholars to gain more knowledge.
It added that the spirit of friendship and togetherness,
intellectual and emotional stability, tolerance and various hesitations must be overcome to reach its objectives.
Among the scopes to be discussed in the programme
include concept and role of scholars as the country's asset
in development and progress.
Through the programme, participants would also look at politics from the legal perspective.
This is very important to
give an actual direction of the development of politics in the
country so as not to be in conflict with the its constitution and laws said the press release.
The programme is targetting scholars from all IPT throughout Malaysia and organisations around Sarawak.
Through this scholastic approach, the convention intends to review the political situations and neutralise scholars' idealism towards national politics.
