Housing Philosophy

Residential Life

If housing options exist, priority will be given to second- and third-year students. Priority for reassignments to housing units will be given in order of dates received. Preference for student accommodation in the summer will be given to: 1) dormitory students who are enrolled in at least six credit hours during the summer.

Enrolled and non-enrolled students living on campus during the summer will be charged fees as determined by the Business Office. Permission will be granted based on space availability and the student's record of rent payments.

Housing Eligibility and Priorities

If housing is available during the summer semester, non-enrolled students and couples may be allowed to stay on campus at the regular semester housing rate. Since the seminary charges based on the number of students on campus, these fees allow the seminary to recoup some of its costs. Both enrolled and non-enrolled continuing students must notify their resident assistant and housing coordinator of their intent to reside on campus during the summer term by the second week of April.

Students who have a negative housing balance will need permission from the Business Office to live on campus during the summer term. It is intended that students complete their degree as quickly as possible, so priority will be given to those who have been on campus for longer than the prescribed time required to graduate.

Housing Rental, Furnishing and Utility Payments

Since we are aligned with Asia Graduate School of Theology (AGST), we also give priority to the Nazarene students from other countries who come here for the purpose of studying at AGST so that they can return to Nazarene institutions in their own country to serve. Students are not permitted to transfer apartments without prior notification and approval by the Dean of Students. Students requesting a room transfer must complete a request form and submit it to the Housing Coordinator for approval prior to any move.

The receipt and empty gas bottles must be presented to the designated person in Facilities for replacement. Individual students are not allowed to bring heavy appliances such as refrigerators and stoves into the student house without permission from the General Services Coordinator.

Housing Maintenance Guidelines

A rental form will be available on the day of registration and must be completed before finalizing the semester bill with the business manager. Before students leave campus after graduation, dormitory and apartment keys must be handed in to the housing coordinator. Employees on duty shall not be requested to assist with personal projects by either students or faculty.

Wardrobes in the Geneva Hall must never be moved. All assistants must be registered with the Central Office to be issued a campus card.

Housing Lifestyle Guidelines

If dorm inspectors find that kitchens are not clean, dorm cooking privileges will be immediately revoked. Men are not allowed to enter the women's home, and women are not allowed to enter the men's home, except for the resident's immediate family members. The resident's assistant and other residents of the home must be notified in advance of such a visit by relatives.

Overnight guests will need prior permission from the Housing Coordinator or Dean of Students to stay in the dormitory. Do not leave rooms open especially when you are going out for meals, worship, study in the library, or on off-campus trips.

Resident Assistants

Anyone admitted to campus must have a purpose for coming to the APNTS campus. In case of emergency, contact your Resident Assistant and/or call the Dean of Students immediately. Residents are expected to report any unusual or suspicious activity or behavior of visitors, residents and/or workers to the guards on duty or to the General Services Coordinator.

No firearms and/or incendiary devices such as sticks of dynamite, hand grenades and other deadly weapons are permitted on campus. Coordinate social and spiritual activities with the SBC Resident Assistants, who will lose their duties, will be replaced by the Dean of Students.

HEALTH SERVICES

Support Services

In an emergency, when medication is required before the doctor can be seen, the campus nurse can provide a starting dose (1-2) of pills, until a prescription can be obtained, provided the medication is available in the clinic as a stock medication at nominal cost. Room, doctor and laboratory costs for hospitalization due to accidents and illnesses incurred while studying at APNTS must be approved by the campus nurse. For common illnesses, the campus nurse must be notified during clinic hours (Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.) for consultation or to make an appointment on campus or with an outside physician.

The campus nurse can refer a student to see a doctor when signs or symptoms are beyond the capacity of the health clinic. In the event of an emergency on campus, the student must be taken to one of the following nearby hospitals for immediate treatment: Manila East Hospital in Taytay; Unciano Hospital in Antipolo, or Taytay Doctors.

SPORTS FACILITIES

The nurse can also provide an estimate of the cost of medical and/or dental services upon request. Medications will be dispensed according to the standing orders of the campus physician as outlined in the APNTS Clinic Procedures Manual. It is the student's responsibility to arrange transportation to and from the physician unless a campus driver is available and approved.

If no nurse is available, any faculty member may be informed and the nurse must then be informed as soon as possible. Table tennis and badminton facilities are currently located on the second floor of the NCEE building.

GENERAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT 1. Building and Grounds

Security

The guards on duty at the gates are authorized and instructed to open all bags, kits, briefcases, boxes, briefcases, and the like brought into or out of the seminary by students, visitors, and campus staff, and to conduct security checks. Back gate access is available to those who live on that side of campus. When leaving the campus, students must inform the guards on duty of the estimated time of their expected return.

All student visitors will remain at the gate until they are received by a student host who will come to the gate. The visitor's pass or employee card must be worn while on campus and will be surrendered to the guard on duty upon exit.
