WHO RIDE ON WHITEHORSES?
Another successful presentation of the Ate
neo Players’ Guild came to a close last Sunday with a superb presentation of "WhoRide". This year’s play boasted of a number of superlativest a magnificent supporting cast, an efficient and self-sacrificing stage crew, Edgardo Kalaw, En rique Valdes, Luis Pimentel (now riding horses in the army).
Now that it is all over, we canlook back at our "lucky breaks" with a smile of satisfaction - those of us who had any. Those who didn’t can charge it to experience. Dramatics can be very cruel to an individual’s ego. We cannot all be - . leadingactors; we cannot even allhave speaking
parts! But whether star of the play or just a ' shout offstage, you are an indispensable cog in --What! the wheel rolling towards a successfulperfor-
No Horses? mance.
That is one of the biggest lessons of a college play. Congratula tions to all the actorsand the stage crew’sunsung heroes, especially loyal Joe Lacson (2-C) whose name (through an oversight) did not ap pear on the program.
OPEN LETTER TO ATENEANS WHO ARE INTHE ARMY NOW HEY, SOLDIERS!
The call to the colors have been sounded! On yourshoulders lie the sacred duty of protecting your country from foreign aggression.
Together with that sacredduty of defending your country is a duty far more sacred, farmore noble - yourduty to GOD.
Ina certain sense, within your particular sphere, you Ateneans are
"the salt of the earth, the light of the world". Youhave had the pre
cious privilege of a CATHOLIC training. Defend your Catholicity and en lighten your less fortunate comrades in arms!
Remember that with the change from civvies to army uniform, with the change from college atmosphere to armylife, with the change from religious to army superiors -
DEATH AND SIN, HEAVEN AND HELL DONOT CHANGE.
God and your soul do not change - even in the Army.
(Note: Beginning with this issue, the Sodality Bulletin will be sent regularly to Ateneans who havebeen calledto the colors, as a means of keeping them in touch with the school and its activities.) ACIL Manifesto
