ABOUT THE AUTHORS AND EDITORS Kenneth C C Yang (PhD) is Professor in the Department of Communication at the University of Texas at El Paso, USA. His research focuses on new media, consumer behavior, and international advertising. The International Journal of Consumer Marketing, Journal of Intercultural Communication Studies, and Telematics and Informatics have published some of his many works. [email protected]

Yowei Kang (PhD) is Assistant Professor at the Degree Program of Creative Industries and Digital Films, Kainan University, Taiwan. His research interests focus on digital game research, technology and rhetoric, composition pedagogy using digital game technology, and teaching English as a second language (ESL). [email protected] Jose Santos “Chong” P Ardivilla is Assistant Professor at the University of the Philippines Diliman College of Fine Arts. A cum laude graduate with a degree in Bachelor in Fine Arts major in Visual Communication, he is a political cartoonist for a Philippine national broadsheet and a printmaker. He earned his MA Art Studies major in Art History from the University of the Philippines Diliman College of Arts and Letters. He was a fellow of BNS Kritika Kultura 2015 and at the National University of Singapore Asian Research Institute in 2016. He has written on popular culture, digital humanities, and gender and sexuality. He has presented his papers in several international academic conferences, aside from being part of several group exhibitions, showcasing art that delves into political commentary. His current research deals with political cartoons, graphic satire, and visual culture. [email protected]

Paul Martin Anthony C Cenizal is a consultant in the communication and media team of Senator Alan Peter Cayetano. Although in politics for his day job, he moonlights as a communication researcher and has authored papers on gender and communication. Popular culture and the workplace are his favorite sites to examine gender in. He is a proud feminist and Beyoncé fan. [email protected]

Maria Francesca Lozari Domingo graduated with a BA Organizational Communication degree from the University of the Philippines Manila in 2015. Her study on expatriation and culture won her department’s Best Thesis award. Her research interests centering on intercultural communication, interpersonal communication, and how media shapes the Filipino psyche led her to ABS-CBN, where she works as a research analyst for its broadcast and entertainment lines of business, conducting strategic qualitative research for the network’s television programming decisions. Jim Duran is Lecturer at Far Eastern University Manila, where he teaches photography and communication research. He is also on the faculty of the Department of Communication at La Consolacion College Manila. Passionate about scholarly research, his move to write policy analyses is giving him another reason to persevere in exploring other areas of study such as game theory, transnational cinema, political theory, and humanism. Chadwick Co Sy Su, editor-in-chief of The Reflective Practitioner, is Assistant Professor of Organizational Communication at the University of the Philippines Manila’s College of Arts and Sciences, where he handles courses ranging from Statistics to Spanish. He has been one of the college’s Outstanding Teachers for the last four years. His research interests, which revolve around intercultural communication, critical discourse analysis, feminist theory, and tourism and pilgrimage, have taken him to conferences in Malaysia and as far as Lithuania.

Mishima Z. Miciano, managing editor of The Reflective Practitioner, is Assistant Professor at the Department of Arts and Communication of the University of the Philippines Manila, where she teaches academic and technical writing. She earned her masters degree in English Studies (Language) from the University of the Philippines Diliman and her baccalaureate degree in Communication Arts from the University of the Philippines Los Baños. Her research interests include discourse analysis, genre-based learning approaches and the study of various professional and academic discourses. [email protected]
