COURSE OUTLINE IN BLDGTECH4

I. Course Title : Building Technology 4 (Advance Building Construction Methods) II. Course Description : Covers advance construction methods and drawings for pre-fabricated members, membrane structure

and industrialized system, and their architectural design details of their exterior environment.

III. Course Credit : 3 units (2hrs. Lecture & 3 hours laboratory) IV. Pre-requisite : Building Technology 3

V. Course General Objectives :

The student will be able to:

Cognitive:

1) familiarized and update the students in new trends in construction technology 2) select and specify building materials to satisfy design purposes.

3) prepare the student with the skills in modular planning and drafting technologies 4) estimate the quantity of materials and calculate the cost needed for a specific building.

5) explain the development of materials technology and its effect in the development of architecture and design.

Psychomotor:

1) draw objects accurately, legibly, and neatly with relative speed, acceptable to current drafting practice.

2) use various presentation techniques appealing and easily interpreted in the professional environment.

3) display effective communication skills both in oral and drafting.

4) apply current architectural trends with the solutions and presentations.
