GOD’S WORDS FOR TODAY Mt. 10:34-11:1) The Holy Gospel according to St. Matthew,
Jesus said to the Twelve, “Do not think I have come to bring peace upon the earth. I have come to bring not peace but the sword. For I have come to set a man ‘against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and one’s enemies will be those of his household.’
Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; whoever does not take up his cross and follow after me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.
“Whoever receives you receives me, and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me.
Whoever receives a prophet because he is a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward, and whoever receives a righteous man because he is righteous will receive a righteous man’s reward. And whoever gives only a cup of cold water to one of these little ones to drink because he is a disciple-amen, I say to you, he will surely not lose his reward.”
When Jesus finished giving these commands to his twelve disciples, he went away from that place to teach and to preach in their towns.
Reflections:
Who’s our topmost priority? Who holds the first rank in our lives? Probably for some it is their family, their relatives but our gospel today tells us that it should be God. When discipleship calls, we need to surrender everything to Him even our family members. Your father and mother may vehemently disagree in your plans to follow the call of discipleship but you should remember that obedience to God is above your obedience to your parents.
Prayer:
Let us pray…
We believe that your invitation of discipleship is a constant call. May we overcome anything that will impede us in following you. Amen.
St John Baptist de la Salle…Pray for Us!
Live Jesus in our hearts… Forever!
FROM THE OVCAR –OFFICE OF THE INTEGRATED SCHOOL PRINCIPAL:
1. We would like to advise all Lasallians using the pedestrian lane near 7-Eleven to be courteous to the TMD personnel assigned at the area. Due respect should be accorded to them as they assist us in ensuring our safety. Please do not ignore their instructions as to when you can cross the street or you still need to wait for a while; otherwise, that lane might be disabled to minimize heavy traffic.
2. Congratulations to Ms. Angie Samonte and the entire Junior High School Academic Council for the Seminar- Workshop on Test Construction emphasizing the Levels of Assessment provided to the teachers last Friday.

Continuation… Health Benefits of Exercise
Weight control: Of course, being thin DOES NOT mean being healthy. But, if you do feel like you have a weight problem, or think that you have the potential for gaining a lot of weight, then exercise is a great way to keep those extra pounds off.
Remember that if you exercise too much just to lose weight, you could hurt your body and you might develop an eating disorder. Too much exercise at your age isn’t necessarily a good thing.
Happiness: Exercising gives you that “runner’s high” that you might have heard about. This is a rush of endorphins, which are chemicals that cause your brain to react in a positive, happy way. Plus, exercising makes you feel more confident. If you feel proud of yourself after a good workout, you’ll probably smile more afterward. Plus, if you’re proud of your muscles, body or physical fitness, then you will have higher self-esteem, which makes you more comfortable in general.
