Certificate in Local Policy Development

The Certificate in Local Policy Development is issued to an individual who has completed four (4) modules under UP CLRG’s ladderized Local Legislative Program.

The program is designed to build upon knowledge and skills of enrolees acquired from accredited modules within the Local Legislative Program or other CLRG capacity development programs for local legislators.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who can enrol to get the Certificate?

All elected local legislators (vice governor, vice mayor, board members and councillors) and Sanggunian staff (secretariat or legislative staff) may enrol in the program.

Are there pre-requisites for enrolment?

For iExceLL, there are no prerequisites for enrolment. However, for the other modules, you must finish the pre-requisite course, i.e. iExceLL is required for DLEC, DLEC is required for SL3)

What are the requirements to complete the certification?

You need to be officially certified for iExceLL, DLEC and SL3 and complete the requirements for the Certification Module which includes subjecting a proposed policy through the legislative process and presenting your reflections in a Policy Development Forum at UP-NCPAG. All modules also have separate Certificates which you get to keep even if you do not finish the program.

Can I apply training certification from other institutions to be credited?

No. Only CLRG certified courses can be credited to the CLPD program.
