ABSTRACT

Interactive learning refers to a pedagogical approach that promotes active

thinking

and creativity through technological

mediation.

The interactions that take place are human-human interaction and human-technology

interaction.

The aim of the study was to investigate: the extent of the use

of

interactive techniques/tools, the effects

ofthe

use

of

interactive leaming in teaching and learning, and the readiness of higher education institutions to adopt interactive strategies, as perceived by engineering

fafllty

and students. Findings indicate

fiat faculty-

and student- respondents generally have favorable perceptions on interactive leaming and have

identified

group work as the most frequently used interactive teaching technique.

Both respondents have perceived capability to teach and learn using interactive leaming, as

well

as perceived

availability

of the needed

facilities

from their respective schools to apply interactive learning strategies.
