Schedule of Trainings 2016

The goal of the BLS for training Healthcare Providers’

Course is to train and retrain them to save victim’s lives in cardiac arrest, following the chain of survival including high qualit y c ardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). The American Heart Association designed the BLS for Health- care Providers (Training Course) to prepare them to know how to perform CPR in both in-and out-of-hospital settings. This course trains participants to promptly recog- nize cardiac arrest, give high- quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations, and provide early use of an automated external defibrillator

(AED), as member and part of a team.

This is open to all participants who: 1) Provide health care to patients in a wide variety of set- tings, including in-hospital and out-hospital settings.

2) Needs to know how to per- form standard high quality CPR in a hospital setting.

3) Wants to learn more about performing 1-or 2-rescuer CPR for adult, child, infant victims.

The BLS course has no prereq- uisite and it is limited to 24 par- ticipants. Each participant shall pay the fee of P2700 (for non PHC staff), P1000 (for Government employee) and

P500.00 (for PHC staff) upon registration. Each participant is required to have a manual before going to class. They shall pay the safekeeping deposit fee of P1,500 (non PHC staff). This deposit is re- fundable ONLY if the manual is returned to Division of Educa- tion by the posted manual re- turn date for the term and man- ual is in good condition. Each PHC staff participant is required to register and get their manual one week before the training date. Each staff should present their IDs and registration forms upon claiming.

The recommended 2-year inter- val represents the current administrative requirement.

ADVANCED CARDIAC LIFE SUPPORT (ACLS) TRAINING COURSE

The Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Training Course is designed for health- care providers who either direct or participate in the manage- ment of cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emer- gencies.

Through didactic instruction and active participation in simulated cases, the students will enhance their skills and clinical management decision- making for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiopulmonary arrest, acute arrhythmia, stroke, and acute coronary syndromes. Students are taught to use the following im- portant concepts:

1. BLS Survey

2. High-quality Cardio pulmo- nary Resuscitation (CPR)

3. ACLS Survey 4. ACLS algorithms

5. Effective resuscitation team dynamics

6. Immediate post-cardiac arrest care

ACLS is open to all currently active healthcare provider whose daily occupation or volun- teer activities demand profi- ciency in the knowledge and skills of ACLS. Providers who take the ACLS Training Course must have a certification for BLS CPR skills using 2010 guide- lines.

The ACLS course is limited to 24 participants. Each partici- pant shall pay the fee of P4500 (for non PHC staff), P2000 (for Government em- ployee) and P500.00 (for PHC staff) upon registration. Each

participant is required to have a manual before going to class.

They shall pay the safekeep- ing deposit fee of P3500 (non PHC staff). This deposit is refundable ONLY if the manual is returned to Division of Edu- cation by the posted manual return date for the term and manual is in good condition.

Each government employee participant is required to submit their government ID and office order, signed by the head of their Institution. Each PHC staff participant is required to regis- ter and get their manual one week before the training date.

Each staff should present their IDs and registration forms upon claiming.

The recommended 2-year in- terval represents the current

administrative requirement.

To receive a course completion card, students must attend all lessons of the course.

The recommended 2-year interval repre- sents the current administrative requirement.

Program for Basic ECG and Arrhythmia Recognition Training Course includes compre- hensive lectures in the morning and afternoon on the first day, and workshop on the second day by our qualified cardiology fellows and con- sultants culminated by a practical and/or written examination at the end of each day. This course can prepare the students in the Advanced Car- diac Life Support Training Course (ACLS).

This course is open to all healthcare providers such as physicians, nurses, emer- gency technicians, paramedics, respiratory therapists and other professionals who are inter- ested in ECG identification and who are working in the critical care areas, emergency and Te- lemetry departments and for those who are pre- paring for ACLS.

PEDIATRIC ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT (PALS) TRAINING COURSE

In the Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Course, you will reinforce and enhance your skills in the treatment of pediat- ric arrest and periarrest pa- tients through active participa- tion in a series of simulated pediatric emergencies. These simulations are designed to reinforce the important con- cepts of a systemic approach to pediatric assessment, basic life support, PALS treatment algo- rithms, and effective resuscita- tion team dynamics.

The goal of the PALS Course is to improve the quality of care provided to seriously ill or in- jured children, resulting in im- proved outcomes.

The PALS Training Course is designed for healthcare provid-

ers who deliver advanced life support during the initial phase of a pediatric emergency, either in or out of the hospital.

Participants must prepare ade- quately to successfully complete the PALS Training Course.

These course does not teach BLS skills, interpretation of rhythm strips, or basic PALS pharmacology. Thus, before tak- ing the course, participant must already certified in BLS skills using the 2010 guidelines.

The PALS course is limited to 24 participants. Each participant shall pay the registration fee of P4500 (for non PHC staff), P2000 (for Government Em- ployee) and P500.00 (for PHC staff) upon registration. Each participant is required to have a
