Job satisfaction is a multifaceted phenomenon and it affects nurses' productivity and performance, cost saving, quality of patient care, patient safety, commitment to the organization and the profession. The purpose of this study was to describe and determinc the level of job satisfaction of 49 community health nurses that were selected tlrough purposive sampling. The McCloskey/Tv{ueller Satisfaction Scale (MMSS), a 3 I -item S-level Likert type questionnaire was utilized for data collection.
A descriptive design was used to achieve the aim of the study. The overall mean score for job satisfaction among nurses was 3.6 (SD = 0.21) suggesting a moderate level of satisfaction. Among the eight sub scales of job satisfaction, co-workers showed the highest mean score 4.22 (SD = 0.60) whereas professional opportunities showed the least mean score 2.86 (sD
=
0.4s), These findings can be used asfoundation knowledge for developing strategies to further enhance job satisfaction among community health nurses.
