1st Lockton Philippines Legacy Awards A Research Competition for Students

OVERVIEW

In celebration of Lockton Philippines’ 25th year Anniversary, we invite undergraduate students to become Environmental Advocates and Change

Agents. As one of the Philippines’ leading insurance and risk management service providers, Lockton Philippines is committed to developing young people to

become bold visionaries who can work on issues that matter.

For much of the past, many small and large organizations as well as communities have acted with little regard or concern for the negative impact they have on the environment, polluting the environment and engaging in practices that are simply not sustainable.

THE COMPELLING CHALLENGE

It is not so much only about the end result of reducing the amount of waste produced or using less energy but also the process that shows the transformative power of collaboration among student researchers, organizations and communities in sustained and significant initiatives to protect and enhance the natural

environment that create the positive change to address the issues that affect them.

Start forming your teams, develop bold and innovative creative solutions to real world problems, and change the world today for a better tomorrow. Deadline for

Pollution prevention aims to reduce or eliminate emissions, effluents, and waste through process changes and organizational efforts applied to the use of materials, processes, or practices. These may include greenhouse gas reduction; energy sources – use of renewables; sustainable materials usage; water usage reduction; and general waste reduction.

Product stewardship aims to reduce the ecological footprint in production and other business- related activities. It minimizes environmental impact throughout the full life cycle (raw material access through production process to the disposal of used products). Product Stewardship also consists of a set of practices that reduce risks from hazards inherent in the operations. These may include sustainable packaging; supply chain process improvement; and specific business process changes.

The research can include hazardous waste management and disposal oversight, employee-training programs, and complete environmental compliance management, among others.
