Schools and universities in the Philippines continuously monitor and revise courses and entire curricula at times to ensure graduates possess the requisite skills to meet societal needs and suoceed as professionals. It should be highlighted then that the abil.rty Of colleges and universitfues to respond to emerging trends is critical as the practice of tourism, political science, and psychology are always in a constant state Of growth and evolution. Regardless Of the size Of the revision, a good rule of thumb is to engage external stakeholders at the outset and to let their expertise and perspectives be the guide.

Time and again, course l'evisions should be rooted in continuous qualfty improvement

pr© and evidence-based practices. For every attempt at changing the currioulum, there

are numerous potential stakeholders to consider. Intemal stakeholders include students, faoulty members, instructors, staff, and administrators. Extemally, individuals with a vested interest in ourricular revisions may include alumni and industry partners associated wth political science, tourism management, and psychology. External experts can assist with the continuous qualfty improvement processes by helping the College stay up to date with rapidly changing areas of practice, especially within emerging fields,

Indeed, it can be tempting to revise curricula to incorporate the latest and greatest trends in the political science, tourism and psychology professions, but this may be ill-advised without the inputs from the extemal stakeholders. These inputs then provided by these external stakeholders can lead to the strengthening of the curriculum through the incorporation of revisions not previously considered. While it is not appropriate or possible to engage all stakeholders through a given ourriculum revision process, it is important to consider and engage all relevant stakeholders, both men and women, ranging from the faculty, students, alumni. and industry and institutional partners.

This activfty then seeks to enhance student leaning, engagement, experience and outcomes in the curriculum revision by way Of engaging the intemal and external stakeholders.

Indeed, the process Of curriculum review and enhancement, through the engagement of industry and community stakeholders, can be a valuable develepmental process for both individuals and program teams for the College and the University as a whole. It has the

potential, if planned and executed well, to improve communication and collaboration between and among faculty members, leading to a stronger program team morale and program identity.

Ill. OBJ ECTIVES This activity aims to:

1. restructure the Political Science, Psychology, and Tourism Management ourrioula according to the needs, interests or abilities of the leamers, both men and women, and pedagogical and industry trends, with inputs from internal and external stakeholders 2. incorporate and/or retain gender-sensitive General Education courses such as Gender

and Scoiety, Indigenous Knowledge, Systems and Practices (lKSP) and specific core courses in the Political Science, Psychology, and Tourism Management programs in their planned curricufar revision

3. engage the participation of internal and external stakeholders, both men and women, in the crafLing of a sound, up-tordate, and gender-sensitive curriculum

4. solicit valuable recommendations from the stakeholders, both men and women, in improving the curriculum for each of the programs;

5. fdster stronger working relationship and job commitment among faoufty, both men and women, through gender sensitive activities,

Departments of the College Of Arts and Sciences. There will be participation from the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Dinah Corazon Licyayo to underscore the significance of stakeholder engagement in curriculum revision; as well as message from the Campus Executive Director. Meanwhile, the facufty members from each Department (Political Science. Psychology and Tourism Management) shall serve as ushers and facilitators for the activity.

3. Management Team. This activfty will be headed by the Office of the College Dean and Program Chairpersons. The organization of the program, including the crafting Of letters for the stakeholders shall be assigned per program while monitoring and evaluation will be done by identified faculty members to ensure the attainment of the objectives Of the activfty.

4. IV]ethodology. The consultation sessions will include presentations of concepts and materials, which shall lead to discussions and debate among the participants.

Specifically, the Departments (Political Science, Psychology and Tourism Management) shall be presenting first their respect-ive ourricula (including the planned revisions), after

which the stakeholders, both men and women, shall then be asked to provide their feedbacks as to their recommendations to further improve the curricula. In this manner, there will be engagement between the College and the industries/community in gathering inputs and feedbacks in solidly restructuring the various curricula.
