February 20, 2015 Parents’ Bulletin No. 6

Dear DLSZ Parents and Guardians:

We have received information that last Thursday, February 18, 2015, written notices were distributed among vehicles bound for De La Salle Santiago Zobel School (DLSZ). The notices, which relate to a new traffic scheme sought to be imposed by Ayala Alabang Village Association, Inc., were represented on the face of the notices as having been issued by

“AAVA-DLSZ Management.” The issuance and circulation of the notices were not authorized by DLSZ Management.

We have raised our concerns and objections with AAVA regarding this notice and the new traffic scheme. Given the very short notice of implementation of the new traffic scheme by AAVA, without prior consultation or coordination with DLSZ, we are unable to provide specific instructions or guidelines to parents and guardians regarding the new scheme, lest we cause further confusion on campus and in the vicinity of DLSZ on Monday, February 23, 2015. Nevertheless, we request parents and guardians to accord respect, and to instruct drivers and fetchers to accord respect, to security personnel who will be stationed inside, within the vicinity of, and/or near, the DLSZ campus. This is without prejudice to the concerns and objections that we have raised with AAVA.

In case you have any grievances or complaints regarding the new traffic scheme, or any other schemes or policies or the implementation thereof, whether announced or

unannounced, including any acts of perceived harassment, please exercise sound discretion and maximum tolerance at all times, record and take note of details, and bring the matter to our attention in writing.

Given the uncertainty brought about by AAVA’s new traffic scheme, we will relax the implementation of the school’s attendance and tardiness policies if the new traffic scheme would cause delay in the drop off process in the morning of Monday, February 23, 2015. This is to avoid causing unnecessary tension on the part of parents, guardians, faculty, administrators and students.

We remain hopeful that we can find effective and systematic approaches to addressing the issues and problems at hand, and to amicably settling differences with AAVA.

Thank you once again for your patience and cooperation.

Yours in St. La Salle,

Br. Bernie S. Oca FSC President
