Abstract
This study used the results of the Grades II to VI pupils of Asian Pacific Christian School, krcorporated to describe their academic performance in two English achievement tests: the National Achievement Test and Achievement Diagnostic Tests. By analyzing the test results of the 151 pupils and the responses of the English teachers to the questionnaires and by researching relevant sources for the study, the researcher determined the pupils' strengths and weaknesses; suggested 17 teaching strategies focused on the learning competencies in English were suggested; and made the proposed Action Plans that may be used by the school
administrators, departrnent heads, and teachers to enrich the school's instructional
development program. The program focuses on improving the pupils' least mastered skills
such as their reading skills (primary level), writing skills, and use of content and function words and sentence structure (intermediate level).
