Competition Rules .

1) The Film Festival is open to all students who are interested in filmmaking and wish to participate.

2) All entrants (director, scriptwriter, crew, videographer, editor, and others) must be students who are at least 15 years old and must have his/her parent/guardian sign the form of consent to join said competition. If necessary, non-students may be hired as cast members/actors.

1) All entrants must register on or before September 15, 2014. The registration will indicate the names of the entrants as well as their respective roles.

They will identify a team name. A duly accomplished registration form must be sent via email to [email protected]. A registration form can be downloaded from IPDM’s website htp: //www .ms uiit.edu.ph/ipdm /inde x .php.

3) All entrants (the Team) must join activities related to the Film Festival such as but not limited to workshops, promotional tours, etc.

4) If a team must withdraw from the competition, it has to be expressed in writing not later than October 1, 2014.

5) By signing the Registration Form, the entrants agree to abide by the rules of the competition and the film guidelines and by the decision of the panel of judges.

6) IPDM reserves the right to disqualify any team who fails to comply with the competition rules and film guidelines.

7) IPDM may amend the rules of the competition at any time with proper information-dissemination to all entrants.

8) The final copy of the film entry must be submited no later than November 15, 2014 no later than 5:00 PM.

Short Film Guidelines .

1) All films received on the abovementioned deadline will be part of the competition. Teams who fail to submit their films on the said deadline will be

disqualified to join the competition but their films will still be included in the public screening.

2) All creative endeavors including but not limited to:

scriptwriting, directing, shooting, editing, and musical scoring should be done by the team members. If creative endeavors of the film are done by somebody not part of the registered team member, the film is disqualified to join the competition.

3) All footage must be shot. Existing footage including but not limited to TV commercial and music videos may be used as a prop or a set piece in a scene.

4) The film must at least be fifteen minutes long but not longer than thirty minutes in duration, including opening and closing credits.

5) Films need not be in English however, subtitling in English is highly encouraged.

6) Any type of video camera or DSLR cameras capable of filming may be used. Animation and computer graphics are also permited.

7) The film must be submited in a DVD and must play using standard film/video programs such as Windows Media Player and VLC Player.

8) The face of the DVD should bear the title of the film and the name of the team.

9) The films must not be viewed publicly before the end of the competition.

10) Usage of pre-recorded music is allowed but these should be acknowledged in the credits of the film.

It is however encouraged that, teams come up with original musical scoring.

11) The film must be clearly content-related to Mindanao, such as intercultural/interfaith relationship and conflict, the ongoing GPH-MILF Peace Process, discrimination and prejudice, stories of Lumad, success stories, etc.

There will be free workshops on the History of Mindanao, the GPH-MILF Peace Process, Scriptwriting, Filming, and Editing for all participants.

Prizes are at stake.
