Significance of the Study

While the system may not be thoroughly automated, such as using biometrics that transfer data automatically, clocking in and out is much more easily encrypted, reducing the source of many errors. Compared to manual time registration, automation of time registration results in less tedious work for staff. They can create reports in an instant without having to spend a lot of time and effort, so they can be productive at the same time.

A reduction in working hours for overtime pay for staff means that the company's operating costs are reduced. While the workers' agency should be the one to bear their time calculations, however, the company also makes their own calculations, as they pay the agency with the exact amount of the services that the third-party workers have done. The timekeeping system that the company uses with their permanent employees cannot be changed due to the agreement with the software vendor.

Therefore, adding a feature to add agency employee attendance tracking to this system will not be feasible and may cost them a lot.

Timekeeping Policies

The employee can take the break whenever he wants, as long as it does not last longer than one hour. In addition, the employee has a free coffee break of 30 minutes, which is not included in the calculations. There is a certain limit on the number of leaves of an employee, depending on their positions. An employee may change his schedule provided the information in the form is correct and it is filed accordingly before the date of change and approved by the department manager. The employee must submit an overtime request before or just after the undertime date and must be approved by the department manager. Database Management System

To add a designation, the user must provide his details (designation name, basic pay and COLA). To view, edit and delete an employee status, the user first searches the database. To view, edit and delete an employee violation, the user first searches the database.

To view, approve/disapprove, and delete a submitted overtime job, the user first searches the database. To view, approve/disapprove, and delete a submitted subtime, the user first searches the database.

When running the application, the login form opens where users can enter their account details to use the system. An account is created at the request of the user, provided with his login details and with the approval of the system administrator. Users can enter employee time registration here by setting the branch, department, designation, and closing start and end dates.

The Daily Time Record is the summary of the input of all the ins and outs of an employee's attendance. It also includes the total hours worked, absenteeism, undertime and late minutes and overtime of the employee, given the date range. The Attendance Summary contains the sum of all the calculations of the employees' hours worked.

After confirming the current password, the user is prompted for a new password followed by confirmation. The two types of users are allowed to enter necessary data relevant to the assessment of employee attendance. It also includes the duration of the work performed by the employee and the amount of work.

The payslip includes the total earned pay of the employee as well as the total deductions (SSS premium, Philhealth and HDMF contribution). The Absence Report shows the list of the employees who were absent for a certain date or month. The overtime report shows the list of the employees who have overtime for a certain date or month.

Timekeeper and system administrator accounts can enter employees along with their clock ins and outs for automated employee attendance calculations. The system administrator can have the overall management of the system, the timekeeper can also manage the automated calculation very well. TAMS has improved the accuracy and speed of calculating employee attendance required to pay employees.

Checking the combination of special items can be included for further improvement of the calculations. For a more user-friendly approach, standard input of employee clock-ins and outs can also be implemented.
