OFFICE OF THE VICE CHANCELLOR FOR RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
MEMORANDUM NO. GAC 22-029
TO : Deans, Directors and Heads of Units
FROM : GONZALO A. CAMPOAMOR II, PhD
Vice Chancellor for Research and Development
SUBJECT : Call for Proposals to OVPAA’s Enhanced Creative Work and Research Grant (ECWRG) 2022 Cycle 2
DATE : 15 July 2022
This is to announce the Call for Proposals to OVPAA’s Enhanced Creative Work and Research Grant (ECWRG) 2022 Cycle 2. Faculty from UP Diliman who are ranked Instructor 4 or higher and REPS with the rank of University Researcher are invited to submit proposals for ECWRG. Faculty who are on sabbatical leave may apply for the grant. Applicants who will be considered for the grant are those who have an established track record in publishing in Web of Science-indexed or Scopus-listed journals, or in authoring books/book chapters with publishers ranked in the SENSE list, or in producing creative works within the reckoning period of the last five years (2017-2021), provided they meet the other eligibility requirements.
May we also inform applicants about the scoring system being followed by the ECWRG Monitoring and Evaluation Committee (EMEC) of OVPAA in its proposal evaluation. Highest weight is given to applicant’s research and publication track record but also takes into account the faculty member’s rank/step and eventually, the number of times they have received an ECWRG grant, and whether they have ongoing grant/s—with points that are inversely proportional to the hierarchy of faculty ranks/steps, the number of ECWRG projects awarded in the past and their ongoing projects. EMEC’s rationale for the inverse scoring along these criteria is to give deserving faculty members who have not yet attained the stature of those who have obtained significant grants from various funding agencies, an equal chance to avail of the ECWRG.
OVCRD will facilitate the administrative evaluation and the technical review by external experts, of all submitted ECWRG proposals. To allow for the review and revision periods, the OVCRD deadline for the online submission of ECWRG proposals is set on 31 August 2022 (Wednesday) at 11:59pm. Online submission of proposals is done by registering an account to OVCRD’s project management website at projects.ovcrd.upd.edu.ph/ovcrd/. Grant guidelines and application forms are downloadable from the same website and herein attached for reference. Please take note that only fully accomplished, duly endorsed (i.e., with e-signatures of Chair/Director and Dean) and timely submitted OVPAA-prescribed application forms (revised July 2022), will be processed. Proposals submitted in hard copy or through email shall not be entertained.
OVCRD will transmit proposals to OVPAA on 30 October 2022 considering the technical review of these proposals were completed, and proponent’s response and/or revisions were submitted as necessary, for EMEC’s further evaluation. Otherwise, remaining proposals whose review and/or revisions are not completed by 30 October will be lined up for the next cycle of ECWRG.
For inquiries, please get in touch with OVCRD’s Research Management Office (RMO) through email at [email protected].
Kindly disseminate this announcement to your faculty and REPS. Thank you for your usual support and cooperation.
