Abstract
Corporations today are treating knowledge as an asset and
investing on tools that enable them to promote knowledge sharing and
reuse. The need to share knowledge is critical in problem solving
especially in IT-oriented companies. Globalink Holdings Corporation's IT department is composed of software and web developers, database
administrators, network engineers and technicians. These personnel play
an important rôle in the company's daily opérations. WebSoph, a web- based Knowledge Management System, was developed to capture and transform knowledge and act as a tool to avoid waste and redundancy of
work, lessen tumaround time, and help in project turnovers and
personnel training. It was based on a Knowledge Management model that combined stratégie issues with implementation. A web-based framework
was adopted for easy maintenance of the System. As for the design pattem, the Model-View-Controller architecture was implemented for easy maintenance, flexibility and code reusability. A face-to-face interview was conducted and feedbacks were collected through an
assessment form.
