บทคัดยอ
การวิจัยครั้งนี้มี มีวัตถุประสงคเพื่อศึกษาบทบาทเจาอาวาสในดานการปกครองและดาน การเผยแผศาสนธรรม :กรณีศึกษาเจาอาวาสในเขตอําเภอเมืองเชียงใหม จังหวัดเชียงใหม โดยเลือก พื้นที่ และกลุมประชากร คือเจาอาวาสที่มีพรรษา ๑๐ พรรษาขึ้นไป จํานวน ๒๐ รูป แลอุบาสก อุบาสิกาอีก ๒๐ คน รวม ๔๐ รูป / คน ในเขต อําเภอเมืองเชียงใหม ๕ ตําบล คือ ตําบลปาตัน ตําบลศรีภูมิ ๑ ตําบลพระสิงห ๑ ตําบลชางมอย และตําบลชางคลาน โดยใชการสัมภาษณเชิงลึก เพื่อตองการความเห็นเกี่ยวกับบทบาทดานการปกครองและดานการเผยแผศาสนธรรมของเจาอาวาส ตามพระราชบัญญัติการปกครองคณะสงฆฉบับที่ใชในปจจุบันวา มีความเห็นสมควรเปลี่ยนแปลง หรือไมอยางไร
ผลจาการวิจัยพบวา ดานการปกครองเจาอาวาสทุกวัด ในเขตอําเภอเมืองเชียงใหม ๕ ตําบล ตางก็ยังยึดหลักพระธรรมวินัยและยังอิงอาศัยพระราชบัญญัติการปกครองคณะสงฆ กฎ ระเบียบ ขอบังคับ และมติมหาเถรสมาคม ในการสนับสนุนสงเสริมการบริหารคณะสงฆใหเกิดความเรียบรอย ดีงามในหมูสงฆ นอกจากนั้นเจาอาวาสทุกวัดยังไดตั้งกฎระเบียบกติกาของวัดขึ้นมาอีกเพิ่มเติมอีก นอกเหนือไปจากกฎระเบียบของมหาเถรสมาคม เพราะเหตุวาปจจุบันสังคมโลกมีการเปลี่ยนแปลง พัฒนาไปมาก เพราะพระธรรมวินัยและศีลอาจจะไมครอบคลุมไดทั่วถึง เจาอาอาวาสจึงตองตั้ง กฎระเบียบกติกาขึ้นมาอีกเพื่อควบคุมความประพฤติของพระภิกษุสามเณรใหเปนไปในทางเดียวกัน

ABSTRACT
The aim of the research is to study the role of abbots in governing and Dhama preaching ; A case study of abbots in Muang district Chiangmai province. Target group for study is the abbots who have been monks 10 yeas and up amount 20 laymen and lauwomen amount to 20 total of them one 40. The areas of study are 5 Tambon of muang district, they are Tambon Patan, Tambon aripum, Tambon Prasing, Tambon Chag Moi and Tambon Muang, Methodology for study is a dept interview , in order to gain their insight on the role of the abbots in gorvernimg and Dhama preaching
according to Sangha Act, which currently promulgated , and to check whether it should be changed or not.
From the study it was found that in term of governing , all the abbits in the above mentioned Tambon , uphold the Dhamavinaya and Sangha Act, rule reglations and

resolution issaed by Mahatheramakom to administrate the Sangha gorernance affectively Furthemore , the abbot of each monastery has set up the additional rule and regulations which enforcing only one own monastery as a complentary part to the Dhammavinaya and Sangha Act in order to administrate Sangha in the same direction , by which result in peace and order to the Sangha community at large
In term of Dhama preaching , however it was found that all parties , ie’ , abbot laymen and laywpmen , suggest that abbots should preach Dhamma in an active way inskead of waiting for lay s invitation. And the abbots should encourage people to participle in Temple s activities in Buddhis Holisays.
