Discussions, Conclusion and Recommendation

Conclusions and Discussion

  • Barrier in Supply Chain Management
  • Bridges in Supply Chain Management
  • Perception of the desired and current level of implemented SCM bridges

All the above information are the three main bridges that BCH should focus on to improve the SCM process and system in the company based on the opinion of the staff working in the purchasing department. A reference to a trading partner must keep us informed of events or changes that may affect BCH, and the exchange of information between BCH and trading partners must be timely, accurate, complete, adequate and reliable. Refer to the level of a long-term relationship with the supplier and long-term contracts should be used for the main main products.

Refer to a perception on the relative advantage of the supply chain practice to be established, on the value compatibility of the supply chain to be established, and on the complexity of the supply chain implementation. There should be performance tracking within the supplier's organization, for example, receipt time, cycle time and lost time. Ranking from the largest gap to the smallest gap, the result shows that the average between the current level of implementation and the desired level of implementation of the bridge information system has the highest gap with 0.81 points which have the current level at 2.92 points, but all staff felt that the desired level should be 3.73 points out of 5 points.

As mentioned earlier for internal collaboration, BCH wants to be successful in SCM means that the waste in the internal process in BCH must be minimized and the waste comes from all departments and to improve SCM other departments must be involved and educated for the benefit from SCM. The sixth bridge that needs to be improved is performance measurement, to get the best outcome, the key indicator must first be clear, because all staff must understand what is the thing they need to achieve that they can focus without clear key indicator, they will don't know which aspect they need to improve. The perception of all personnel in the department of BCH procurement about the advantages and benefits of SCM must be created and observed.

Recommendation

  • Recommendation to overcome the current barrier in BCH’s Procurement Department
  • Recommendation to improve the current bridge in BCH’s Procurement Department

To get support for information technology resources, they need to determine the budget and seek approval from the director showing the importance of SCM, then all staffs will definitely get support. This helps a lot for a faster process, the researcher suggests to improve this only that the criteria should be reviewed every year for the appropriate of the responsibility of the staff. Monday to update all subjects for all staffs, but now the Line app comes to help and improve this bride a lot.

If any updates come, all staff will be updated timely and effectively and also all meeting minutes will be summarized by line for a clear communication system, then all staff will not be confused what to do after the meeting. BCH should have clear KPI of SCM to give to all staff but not just a clear KPI. Fifth bridge is information transparency; because BCH is a listed company, all information must be audited with a third-party company, but to improve this factor.

Eighth, level of trust, to improve the relationship with key supplier for key product is quite important. More about getting the trust of supplier, BCH should pay attention to the timely payment and order system should be adjusted to suit BCH and supplier. The last recommendation for alliance design, in this bridge, in order to improve the performance tracking within supplier organization, for example lead time, cycle time and time wastage and the evaluation, the formal and informal complaints of customers should be implemented and should be a regular evaluation.
