Abstract:
Physical and chemical properties of soil such as soil organic carbon content, carbonate content, pH, clay content, moisture, and temperature vary with respect to landscape position (upper, middle, and lower slope positions), and thus may affect soil microbial process (e.g. enzyme activity) and the size of microbial biomass. 2,4-D degradation in soil occurs primarily through the microbial activity. This poster outlines the impact of landscape position on soil microbial biomass to further understand the fate of 2,4-D in agricultural fields.
