การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงคหลักคือ 1) เพื่อศึกษาระดับการมีสวนรวมของประชาชนในการ บริหารงานขององคการบริหารสวนตําบล และ 2) เพื่อศึกษาระดับความรูความเขาใจทางการเมืองของ ประชาชนเกี่ยวกับองคการบริหารสวนตําบล โดยมีสมมติฐานคือ ความรูความเขาใจเกี่ยวกับองคการ บริหารสวนตําบลตางกันสงผลใหมีสวนรวมในการบริหารงานขององคการบริหารสวนตําบลตางกัน
ระเบียบวิธีวิจัยใชระเบียบวิธีวิจัยเชิงปริมาณ โดยสุมแบบสอบถาม จํานวน 360 ชุด จาก ประชาชนทั่วไป และวิธีศึกษาจากเอกสาร บทความ งานวิจัยที่เกี่ยวของ กฎหมาย ระเบียบ ขอบังคับ หนังสือสั่งการของทางราชการ ผลการศึกษาพบวา
1. ประชาชนมีระดับความรูความเขาใจเกี่ยวกับองคการบริหารสวนตําบลอยูในระดับสูง และ ปจจัยดานภูมิหลังทางสังคม ไดแก อายุและอาชีพ มีความสัมพันธกับความรูความเขาใจ
2. ประชาชนมีสวนรวมในการบริหารงานขององคการบริหารสวนตําบลอยูในระดับคอนขาง สูง และปจจัยดานภูมิหลังทางสังคม ไดแก เพศ อายุและอาชีพ มีความสัมพันธกับการมีสวนรวม
3. ความรูความเขาใจเกี่ยวกับองคการบริหารสวนตําบลมีความสัมพันธเชิงบวกกับการมีสวน รวมในการบริหารงาน

Independent Study Title People’s Participation in the Administration of Ma Khun Wan Tambon Administrative Organization, San Pa Tong District, Chiang Mai Province

The main objectives of this research were: 1) to study the people’s participation in the administration of the Tambon Administrative Organization, and 2) to study the people’s political knowledge and understanding in the Tambon Administrative Organization. It was hypothesized that the people’s political knowledge and understanding were associated with participation in the administration.
A closed-ended questionnaire was used to collect data from 360 people in general.
Documentary research involved a study of related articles, research works, laws, and governmental rules and regulations.
The findings were:
1. The political knowledge and understanding was also quite high. Factors influencing the differences in the knowledge and understanding were age and occupation.
2. The participation in the administration was quite high. Factors influencing the differences in the participation were gender, age and occupation.
3. The political knowledge and understanding were positively associated with the participation.
