٧٦ Areas of Partnership between the Private Sector and the Public
Education Schools as Percieved by the Principals in Riyadh A Pilot Study
Fahd bin Abbas Al-Otaibi
Teachers College, King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
Abstract. This study aimed to explore the possible ways of partnership between private sector and schools of general education as seen by number of schools directors in the city of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The study used the descriptive research method and the main sample was schools directors who were randomly chosen. The sample consisted of 448 head-masters; 302 from middle-schools and 146 from high-Schools. Based on previous research studies, the researcher designed a survey consisting of 22 items covering different aspects of possible partnership between the two variables (private sector and schools of general education). The results of the study indicated that participants collectively agreed on the importance of such partnership. Consequently, providing rewards and incentive programs are encouraging students to pursue their study, free transportation including students with special needs, and increasing the opportunities of organizing field visits to private sector.
