Al Ain University at First ANQAHE Conference

Prof. Ghaleb El Refae, AAU President, met with Prof. Sultan Abu Orabi Al-Adwan, Secretary General of the Association of Arab Universities (AARU), and discussed joint cooperation and means of strengthening ties.

The meeting was on the margins of the First Arab Network for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ANQAHE) Conference hosted by the Commission for Academic Accreditation in the United Arab Emirates, and held in Abu Dhabi from Dec. 13 to 15.

Prof. El Refae detailed the activities and

programs offered by AAU in addition to its future development plans revolving around the enhancement of the quality of academic programs.

Correspondingly, AAU Chancellor, Dr. Noor AlDeen Atatreh, and AAU President, Prof. Ghaleb El Refae met with Prof. Dawoud Al Zaatari, President of Palestine Technical University. During the meeting, attended by Prof. Sultan Abu Orabi Al-Adwan, they discussed means of developing cooperation among Arab universities, the programs offered at AAU and PTU, and the accreditation system as well as the factors affecting lifelong learning and community service.

On his part, Prof. Sultan Abu Orabi Al Adwan, commended the level of higher education in the UAE. He also praised the role AAU plays in the educational process reiterating that the AARU is willing to cooperate with AAU in all fields.
