AAU family promotes communication in the annual Ramadan Iftar
The Al Ain University family at both the Al Ain and Abu Dhabi campuses recently enjoyed a lively Annual Iftar Banquet, organized by the university to foster stronger bonds of communication, cooperation, love, and tolerance. The event was attended by distinguished guests, including Dr.
Noor El Deen Atatreh, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Prof.
Ghaleb El Refae, the President of AAU.
During the event, Dr. Atatreh emphasized the significance of such gatherings during Ramadan, which underscore the university’s commitment to promoting social relations and cultivating a familial atmosphere among its employees. Meanwhile, Prof. El Refae highlighted
how organizing social events helps to strengthen communication and familiarity among colleagues, encourages hard work, and enhances overall camaraderie.
Following the Iftar meal, the event was filled with a festive atmosphere as employees participated in a range of cultural and entertaining competitions with great enthusiasm. Al Ain University is dedicated to continually organizing such events in order to foster greater cooperation, love, brotherhood, and communication among its employees, which in turn can positively impact their performance.

Al Ain University and Abu Dhabi Police organize a
competition to promote the traffic culture of the community
A group Iftar was organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs at Al Ain University’s Abu Dhabi Campus for AAU students during the Holy Month of Ramadan. The students came together at the Iftar table, which was characterized by traditional dishes, with students from various nations contributing to the spread.
During the holy month of Ramadan, Al Ain University partnered with the Abu Dhabi Police to organize a competition on social media platforms aimed at raising awareness and promoting safe driving practices while reducing negative behavior on the road. Topics covered in the competition included fastening seat belts, maintaining a safe distance between vehicles, avoiding distractions while driving, refraining from using phones, following traffic signals and rules, and the penalties and consequences of violations. The university hopes that this initiative
will help instill a culture of responsible driving and increase awareness among drivers, ultimately leading to a reduction in accidents and injuries. By collaborating with various institutions, including Abu Dhabi Police, Al Ain University is committed to making a positive contribution to society through workshops, awareness lectures, and other activities.
The competition is open to all members of the community in the United Arab Emirates, with valuable prizes provided by Abu Dhabi Police for those who participate and answer questions correctly.

Moot Court about Drug Possession Al Ain University is a Packing House for
“Ramadan Aman 9”
The College of Law at Al Ain University (Abu Dhabi Campus) held two Moot Courts, in which the students of the practical training course mastered their roles efficiently during their representation in it, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Tayel Al-Shayyab and Dr. Ahmed Fekry, and in the presence of the Deputy Dean of the College of Law, Dr. Ramzi Ahmed Madi, Head of the Private Law Department, members of the academic staff and
a number of students.Through these moot courts, the students conducted full trials in criminal incidents after being trained in the practical training course, knowing the procedures of criminal and civil trials, training on how to make inference records, and conducting the preliminary investigation, with the knowledge of the Public Prosecution, drafting defense notes, and performing pleadings.
As a packaging house in the city of Al Ain for the campaign “Ramadan Aman 9”, Al Ain University received a huge number of volunteers who are participating in the campaign, which was launched by the Al Ihsan Charity Association, In Partnership with the Ministry of Interior and in cooperation with the Traffic departments and police.
This campaign contributes to reducing traffic accidents and over speed through distributing meals to drivers at Maghreb prayer timings, With
the participation of thousands of volunteers.
Dr. Enas Abulibdeh, from the College of Education, Humanities and Social Sciences, and the main supervisor of the packing house at Al Ain, praised the efforts of all volunteers, and stressed on the importance of this campaign in spreading the culture of volunteering, and enhancing social and humanitarian communication with different groups of society.

Distribution of Eid gifts on the occasion of Zayed Humanitarian Work Day Innovative Projects for the Holy Month of Ramadan
In collaboration with the College of Engineering, the Deanship of Student Affairs at Al Ain University (Abu Dhabi Campus) facilitated an opportunity for students to commemorate Ramadan by creating innovative projects. Dr. Noha Hamada, Deputy Dean of Student Affairs, and Engineer Huda Al-Hayh supervised the students in this initiative.
Hossam El-Din, a student from the College of Engineering, executed the first project titled “The Speaking Crescent.” This project involved creating an electronic board that operates on the Arduino system and a voice recorder. The device greets passers-by and congratulates them on the holy month of Ramadan through a motion sensor that is linked to the electronic board.
The second project was carried out by Mohammed Al-Shehhi, another student from the College of Engineering. He designed and printed 3D gifts for Ramadan utilizing a 3D printer. The students were empowered to create diverse figures in novel ways through this technology.
Al Ain University’s commitment to advancing scientific and practical education, as well as fostering innovation and creativity, is exemplified in these projects. The university aims to improve students’ scientific and technical competencies and cultivate a culture of innovation.
In observance of Zayed Humanitarian Work Day, the College of Education, Humanities and Social Sciences with the Deanship of Student Affairs “Red Crescent Student Club”, in collaboration with Emirates Red Crescent Authority, and Tawam Hospital organized a charitable campaign titled “Our Eid is nicer with you”. Dr. Bayan Al-Naimat and Dr.
Munther Balawi represented the college in this effort, which involved the distribution of Eid gifts to underprivileged patients at Tawam Hospital. The campaign brought joy to the patients and their families and reflects Al Ain University’s commitment to fostering relationships with the wider community and contributing to public health.

A Friendly greeting from the Deanship of Students Affairs to Students of Determination
A lecture on Ramadan and Values of Spiritual Sustainability
The Deanship of Student Affairs at Al Ain University (Abu Dhabi Campus) greeted students of determination on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr, where they were congratulated on Eid Al-Fitr and Eid gifts were distributed to them. This comes through directing the university administration and its keenness to pay constant attention to students of determination and provide them with an appropriate educational environment, by providing means of comfort, cooperation, and integration with various groups of society in general and university students and staff in particular.
A lecture titled “Ramadan and Promoting the Values of Spiritual and Heart Sustainability” was organized by the College of Law at Al Ain University (Abu Dhabi Campus) to coincide with the last ten days of Ramadan. Dr. Maher Hussein Haswa, a Professor of Jurisprudence, delivered the lecture. In attendance were Prof. Amer Qasem, Vice
President of AAU (Abu Dhabi Campus), Prof. Ramzi Madi, Vice Dean of the College of Law, a group of faculty members, and a number of students. Dr. Maher Hussein discussed the significance of the last ten days of Ramadan and Laylat al-Qadr and highlighted various meanings that the holy month conveys.

A workshop entitled; Together we create the future on occasion of World Braille Day
An event called “Together We Create the Future” was organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs at Al Ain University (Al Ain Campus) in collaboration with the College of Communication and Media, to mark World Braille Day. The event was supervised by Dr. Khawla Al-
Takhaina, a member of the Central Community Interaction Committee in the Deanship of Student Affairs, and featured a presentation by Mr.
Mohammad Turki Al Mansoori, a Braille language user. During his talk, Mr. Al Mansoori discussed the challenges faced.

The Civil Engineering faculty members attend the Fourth MENA Desalination Projects Forum
The program of civil Engineering at Al Ain University (Abu Dhabi Campus), represented by Prof. Mohammad Alhassan, Dr. Abdullah Sharou, Dr. Omar Najm, and Eng. Esraa Hijah, attended the Fourth MENA Desalination Projects Forum in Abu Dhabi, to discuss the future of the region’s desalination sector.
This forum brings together more than 400 regional and international representatives from ministries, government agencies, municipalities, consultants, contractors, and solution providers in the largest desalination conference and exhibition in the Middle East and North Africa region all together, to discuss the future of the desalination industry in the region, upcoming mega projects, and visions of national sustainability guiding the region’s 2030 water agenda.

Workshop Entitled “Mental Health and Wellbeing in the workplace”
The CoE Students Won First Places in 17 th IEEE UAE Student Day
A number of students from the College of Engineering at Al Ain University (Abu Dhabi Campus) achieved advanced positions during their participation in presenting their projects in the competition on the 17th UAE Student Day, under the supervision of a number of faculty members from the College of Engineering.
The students won two awards for their projects, as follows: the first place went to the ‘Software Engineering Project (SEP)’ project done by Juraij Bin Jamal, Abdullah Al Yousefi, and Mohamed Alshehhi, supervised by Dr. Yazeed Ghadi and Eng. Esra Al Nashash. The third place went to the ‘Engineering Design Project (EDP).
The Continuing Education Center at Al Ain University (Abu Dhabi Campus) presented a workshop about the benefit of the Department of Antiquities and Museums in Ras Al Khaimah entitled “Mental Health and Wellbeing in the Workplace” presented by Dr. Samer Abdel Hadi
from the College of Education and Human Sciences.
The workshop touched on various titles that include each of the areas of mental wellness and its dimensions, and the importance of mental health care, due to its great impact on work and productivity.

A Virtual Lecture Entitled “ADREK”
The Deanship of Student Affairs (Abu Dhabi Campus), in cooperation with the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowments, organized a virtual lecture on the occasion of Ramadan entitled “ADREK”, presented by Dr. Majdoleen Al-Nabihi - Ph.D. in Arabic Linguistics and a member of the Guests Program of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates.
According to Dr. Majdoleen Al-Nabihi, Ramadan is a month characterized by kindness, and during this holy month, we should follow ways that bring us closer to Allah through acts of kindness, donations, and feeding the less fortunate. She provided examples of admirable individuals .
A virtual lecture entitled “Positive Thumb”
The Deanship of Student Affairs at Al Ain University (Abu Dhabi Campus) collaborated with the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments to host a virtual lecture called “Positive Thumb,”
presented by Professor Sulaiman Al Habash, a Senior Preacher. During the lecture, Professor Al Habash touched on various topics, such as the last ten days of Ramadan, the connection between positive imprint and Ramadan, expenses, donations, and justifications. He also used the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan as an example of someone who had a positive imprint by helping those in need through charitable work.
A Virtual Webinar Entitled “Emotional Intelligence”
A virtual webinar titled “Emotional Intelligence” was organized by the College of Engineering at Al Ain University’s Abu Dhabi campus, moderated by Dr. Tareq Oshan, and presented by Ms. Tasneem Sheikh, a distinguished academician in the Human Resources and Business fields from Higher Colleges of Technology. The webinar aimed to enlighten attendees about the significance of emotional intelligence in the current fast-paced world, and Ms. Tasneem’s presentation was informative, insightful, and beneficial for all participants, including Al Ain University administration staff, academic staff.
