Course title: Calculus (3). Office Hours:
Course description:
This course is devoted to vectors and planes in 3-dimensional coordinates, Functions of Several Variables and Multiple Integrals.
Aims of the course: This module aims to :
1. Get introduced to vectors in 3-diminsion and use operations on them with some applications.
2.
Understand definitions, examples, and theorems pertaining to calculus and its applications.3. Deal with functions of several variables and their properties with some applications.
4. Manipulate multiple integrals.
Intended Learning Outcomes: (ILOs)
A.
Knowledge and Understanding A1. Concepts and Theories: New theories and concepts of Calculus.
Analytical procedures for solving Problems.
A2. Contemporary Trends, Problems and Research:
Serve to understanding topics in this course.
Comprehend theorems of calculus.
B.
Subject-specific skills B1. Problem solving skills: Students will be able to apply the fundamental of
Calculusthat they have learned in this course to solve problems.
Students will develop the ability to think independently and solve problems.
B2. Modeling and Design:
Teaching strategies to be used to develop these cognitive skills.
Lectures are followed by numerous examples, some of which are practical in nature, to illustrate the application of learned theories.
Problems in class are used to explain further the theories and to help the students apply them in solving problems.
B3. Application of Methods and Tools:
Exams, quizzes and home works will include problems, solution of which requires critical thinking and identification of correct formulas.
Class discussion.
