Quality & Accreditation Unit Faculty of Pharmacy-Jouf University 1440/1441 H The Quality and Academic Accreditation Unit was established by a decision of

His Excellency Dean of the college, the unit works to ensure quality in the scientific departments of the college, its units and departments supporting it to achieve the college's mission and goals. The unit is based by implementing the policies of the Deanship of Quality and Academic Accreditation at the university.

fields of education, scientific research and community service.

The graduation of pioneer pharmacists and researchers at a highly competitive level in accordance with academic standards and community values to meet the

needs of the local, regional and international labor market.

1. Providing quality education and professional development for students of the College of Pharmacy.

2. Promote self-learning and a commitment to continuous learning.

3. Applying the highest standards of quality in education and training using the latest technologies

4. Organizing and promoting the applied research process as a vital component in pharmaceutical sciences, and liaising with local and international research centers.

• General supervision of the unit in accordance with the regulations and laws established and achieving the general objectives of the unit.

• Presiding over the Unity Council in the faculty, and calling for its periodic meetings, or as required.

• Adopt and discuss quality issues in the College Board.

• Follow-up on the application of standards for obtaining accreditation and programmatic and continuing implementation in the college.

• Providing the necessary administrative support for the Quality Unit and the academic programs in the college.

• Adoption of material support for unit activities.

• Supervising the preparation and implementation of the college's strategic plan.

v Head of Quality Unit:

• Developing internal quality systems, “the unit’s structure and regulations, forming the unit and its committees, describing tasks and selection criteria, unit installations, archiving and documentation systems, plans, activities, mechanisms for communicating with departments and follow-up systems, quarterly quality reports, and improvement plans.”

• Coordination of internal and external auditing of the academic performance of the college and its scientific departments, and the accreditation of the audit committees

.

• Supervising the updating and development of the unit's website.

• Complete all required databases in the college and archive them.

• Participate in preparing periodic and annual reports and self-studies at the institutional and programmatic levels.

• Coordination and communication with the Deanship of Quality and Academic Accreditation. Continuous communication with the stakeholders and beneficiaries of the college activities. Follow up the implementation of decisions issued by the unit’s board of directors or from the college’s board in the unit’s field of work.

• Unit representation and point of contact with the Deanship of Quality and Academic Accreditation.

• Any other specializations delegated by the Dean of the College.

• A proposal to exchange the members ’bonuses and submit them to the dean.

• Activating all systems and practices related to quality work in the female section.

• Coordination with the head of the quality unit in all quality issues, female students’ section.

• Effective coordination and communication with the Deanship of Quality and Academic Accreditation, Female Section.

• Any other specializations delegated by the Head of the Quality Unit in the light of developments and requirements.

v Department's Quality Coordinators Committee:

• Communication between the faculty quality unit and the scientific departments.

• Ensure that assessments of decisions and opinion are conducted in a transparent and impartial manner.

• Distribute and collect all quality documents and reports at the level of the scientific departments.

• Collecting performance indicators and benchmarks for all college programs, following up on an annual process of measurement and developing program performance in light of the results of these indicators and the appropriateness of the improvement procedures for each program.

• Proposing the formation of internal and external review committees for academic programs in partnership with program coordinators and the head of the Quality Unit and organizing procedures for external review of academic programs

• Participate in reviewing program descriptions, reports, and decisions of the college with program coordinators periodically, and ensure that they are prepared according to the forms approved by the National Authority for Academic Assessment and Accreditation and that they are compatible with the National Qualifications Framework.

• Participate in meeting all the criteria for program accreditation for all academic programs in the college.

• Prepare program self-study for all college programs

v Training and Technical Support Committee:

• Provide support for scientific departments.

• Determine the training needs in the field of quality assurance and academic accreditation for all faculty members (leaders - faculty members - administrators - students - graduates - beneficial community).

• Preparing training plans in the field of quality assurance based on the needs of the faculty members, including conferences, seminars, training programs and workshops.

• Activating and implementing training plans and preparing training materials in cooperation with the Deanship of Quality and Academic Accreditation.

• Evaluate the performance of training programs in light of models prepared for this purpose

• Follow-up on assignments in light of developments and requirements.

• Follow up the implementation of the annual plan and improvement and promotion plans.

• Follow-up to send the curriculum reports from the departments to the headquarters of the Quality Unit and coordinate with the head of the Quality Unit and the Quality Coordinators Committee in the scientific departments in this regard.

• Follow-up on sending the results of the curriculum evaluation and students' observations to departmental councils, curriculum coordinators and teaching staff to review and take the necessary corrective measures.

• Preparing comparative reports on the results of evaluating decisions at the level of academic programs.

• Follow up the implementation of the college’s training plans in light of the approved plans.

• Follow-up on the implementation of the improvement proposals for analyzing the results of the reference comparison at the college and its programs

• Review the programmatic self-study of the college’s programs with the specialized committee, and approve them from the official councils and classify the college’s programs according to the level of performance.

• Carrying out all the tasks and administrative work of the unit.

1- Accreditation:

The recognition granted by a recognized responsible body (Quality and Accreditation Guarantee Authority)

The institution whether it can demonstrate that its programs comply with the declared and approved standards and that it has existing systems to ensure quality and continuous improvement of its academic activities, in accordance with the stated controls published by the authority.

2 - Academic Accreditation:

Is the recognition that an educational institution's programs have achieved or have reached a minimum level of efficiency and quality standards set in advance by the awarding authority for accreditation.

These are specific criteria approved by the institution; they are drawn from external national or international references and include the minimum skills and knowledge that graduates are supposed to acquire from the program and fulfill the institution's stated mission.

4- Academic Reference Standards:

They are reference points by which the program criteria and quality can be compared, and therefore represent general expectations about levels of achievement and general characteristics that must be met in the qualities of a graduate of a major.

5- Action Plans:

The set of activities that are prepared and implemented in a clear sequence to reach specific goals.

6- Annual Report:

The self-assessment report that is prepared each year for the educational institution and is based on the reports of its academic programs and the various activities that achieve the Foundation's mission.

7- Documentation

The process of writing and recording all business data for the institution, so that the institution has a date and reference points or mechanisms, through which you can analyze this recorded data for the purpose of development and improvement.

The ratio of the quality of the output from the process to the quality of the inputs.

The ratio of the quality of the output from the process to the quality of the inputs.

10- General and Transferable Skills:

Skills acquired from the study method and not related to the specialized study subjects.

11- Infrastructure:

The infrastructure that serves the work of the workers inside the organization such as buildings, rooms, laboratories, connections, telephones, and computers … etc.

12- Institution:

University, college or higher institute, offering higher education programs, leading to educational qualification university (Bachelor) or higher (Diploma - Master - PhD).

It is a process of evaluating the quality of the educational level of the institution on the basis that the institution is based by achieving the largest amount of its goals, and that it has the resources to continue in the future.

14- Learning Resources

The educational possibilities of an institution that provide easy and easy learning for students to obtain targeted skills.

15- Mission:

The declared constitution of the institution, which clarifies the mission of the organization and its targeted exits.

16- Vision:

The image of the institution, its aspirations and long-term goals.

17- Organization Chart:

The scheme that shows the division of labor within the organization, and the name of the jobs available within institution, job hierarchy and departmental structures.

It is a set of mechanisms to achieve the set of knowledge, skills and sentiments that it provides the university inside and outside its walls to achieve the desired learning outcomes of an educational program in a specific time period.

19- Program Assessment:

The methods used to obtain the views of the beneficiaries of the program, and include students and faculty members of the college, graduates, and the labor market, with the aim of improving and developing the educational program to respond to the progress in the content of the subject and the needs of society and the environment.

20- Total Quality Management (TQM):

It is a philosophical thought that aims to develop the activity of the institution using analytical and statistical methods developed and diversified to obtain the best results and involve all elements of the system and its management in order to achieve the required quality in institutional work and satisfy the beneficiary.

It is an activity and a means to ensure that the requirements and standard criteria required for an organization to be met are met the goal of the institution to reach outputs that satisfy the labor market.

The group of persons, whether from within or outside the institution responsible for follow-up the functioning of the quality system within the organization.

A set of short-term plans designed to achieve quality for improvement quality level.

An analytical quality tool that aims to assess and study the current strategic situation an organization has to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the organization and know its opportunities in development and what are the threats that affect it so that it helps to develop strategic plans for the development of the institution.

34- Teaching and Learning Methods:

Methods that teachers use to help students achieve targeted scientific results for the course.

35- Accreditation standards:

Standards developed by the National Authority for Academic Evaluation and Accreditation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia NCAAA numbering standard includes several requirements used to judge the extent to which the institution or program meets the criteria, namely:

v The Quality Unit was established from a logistical point of view, and an integrated quality assurance system was established that includes a group of supporting sub-committees.

Quality & Accreditation Unit Faculty of Pharmacy-Jouf University 1440/1441 H v Internal audit committees were formed in the two parts to review the

descriptions of all academic programs and their decisions according to the review forms approved by the Deanship of Quality at the university.

v The descriptions of all academic programs and decisions were revised externally and modified according to the comments received.

v Courses files were prepared containing the course description, the report of the course, a brief biography on the subject teacher, pictures of the tests and work of the year, in addition to samples of female students ’answers, and the final result of each section is a hard copy.

v Distribute and analyze program evaluation questionnaires, analyze them and write a report on them.

v Distribute and analyze course evaluation questionnaires, analyze them and write a report on them.

v Distributing and analyzing student experience assessment questionnaires and writing a report on them, the curriculum vitae of the faculty members, in a paper and electronic copy, according to approved forms from the Deanship of Quality at the university.

v Preparing the performance indicators file for the college and departments and writing a report on it in electronic version.

v Spreading the culture of quality in the college by conducting courses and workshops, and publishing publications related to quality and academic accreditation.
