First Aid
Background and justification
First Aid Training is given to the public in various settings. The community should have equal access to first aid course. People equipped with the knowledge and skills, which can preserve life during emergency. It can also promote self- confidence, self-esteem and they will be able to offer help to others. This training also increases their competency in practicing first aid. The training will help the participant to acquire the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary for giving care to injured until medical aid arrives.
Educational objectives
By the end of this course participants will be able to:
1- Assess victim’s conditions.
2- Identify basic needs of the causality.
3- Apply principles of first aid related to: ABCs; practice CPR; evaluate bleeding, wounds, fractures, burn, poisoning, sun stroke.
4- Be aware of the duties of first aider.
Course Design
The course will conduct over 5 days (4 hours per day) with a total of 20 hours.

Employee in King Abdul Aziz University, security personnel & administrative personnel.

Arabic will be the course language

Different training methods will be applied to put participants in an active position, these include:
- Lectures with the help of audiovisual facilities - lab training.
- Group discussion
