Leadership in the teaching of Chemistry and excellence in scientific research and its applications to contribute to serve the community.
Preparation of the science competencies in the field of Chemistry to contribute to the scientific, industrial, educational and economic development of the Kingdom and to solve the environmental problems through applied research.

Chemist, assistant researcher, researcher, investigator or quality monitor in the following organizations:

Quality Control Laboratories in pharmaceutical, food, mining, pesticides, detergents and other chemical Industries.

Students will demonstrate an understanding of major theoretical principles and experimental findings in all five major disciplines of chemistry: analytical, biochemistry, inorganic, organic and physical.

Students will demonstrate proficiency in the use of laboratory skills in synthetic, quantitative and instrumental methods as scientific approaches to gathering and verifying knowledge.
Students will be able to use appropriate library searching tools (including SciFinder) to locate, retrieve, and evaluate scientific information about an issue relating to chemistry.
Students will demonstrate proficiency in collecting, analyzing and articulating and speaking about chemistry topics according to professional standards in a clear and concise manner.
Students will be familiar with the proper procedures and regulations for safe handling, use, and disposal of chemicals.
Students will demonstrate an awareness of the impact of chemistry on the environment, society, and other cultures outside the scientific community.
Students will effectively and respectfully communicate and collaborate with colleagues in both classroom and laboratory.
Chemistry is one of four departments in College of Science at Jouf University. The main studied branches of the program are organic, physical, inorganic and analytical chemistry. The department includes 8 laboratories for students in chemistry disciplines. Students get the bachelor degree of science in chemistry on successfully passing (134) units. The department consists of (38) members of the teaching staff from various scientific degrees (Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor) in both boy and girl branches;
moreover, )8) demonstrators and lecturers assist them.

The study in chemistry department at Jouf University started in the academic
year 1429-1430 H. Since, its foundation; four member staffs have alternated its
administration and several students boys or girls have been graduated and
awarded their chemistry bachelor degree. Recently, the department has been
developed where its laboratories contained recent and advanced equipments for
both student and researchers. Meanwhile, all negativities in courses plan have
been overcoming through the new recent plan that obeys the Kingdom and
world requirements such as renewable energy, green chemistry, nanomaterial,
industrial chemistry and the nuclear chemistry.
