About Uos
The University of Sharjah was established as a non-profit institu- tion for higher education in October 1997 by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University to be the first university in the Emirate of Sharjah.
The University’s architecture lends full expression to its Islamic and Arabic heritage with splendid buildings and captivating land- scape. The campus provides spacious, outstanding facilities that include multimedia study halls, advanced scientific and research laboratories, dedicated libraries rich with information resources, state-of-the-art IT infrastructure and computing labs, theatres, clubs, two major sports complexes, student centres with access to restaurants and variety of shops, and many other facilities.
There are also separate residential areas for male and female stu- dents and the faculty. The University’s Medical Complex includes the Colleges of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Health Sciences, Medical Research Laboratories, University general hospital, and a Dental Hospital.

- The University of Sharjah has expanded in a relatively short span of time to include 14 colleges offering more than 83 diverse academic programs (majors) at the diploma, bachelor, master and PhD levels. There are currently more than 13,500 students enrolled at the university, with academic instructions delivered by 610 faculty members having diverse international experience and renowned stature.
- The University is fully licensed and all its programs are accred- ited by the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the United Arab Emirates.

Discounts and financial aid:
High School Discount: The University awards a 50% tuition dis- count to students who achieve 90% or higher on their high school
certificate or its equivalence. The discount is for the first semester only (i.e. the semester during which the student joins the University) in accordance with the terms and conditions in effect at the Univer- sity and as stated in the Financial Regulations.
Excellence Discount: The University awards an ‘excellence dis- count’ of 25% to 50% to students who obtain a GPA of 3.6 or above for a given semester, which is applied to the semester once the grades appear.
Sibling Discount: Student siblings (brothers or sisters) registered at the same semester are eligible for a sibling tuition fee discount of 10% per semester for each sibling.
Tuition Discount at the UOS Branches in the Eastern Region (Khor- fakan and Kalba): The University offers a 25% tuition discount to new students studying at the UOS branches in Khorfakan and Kalba.
Community College Scholarship: Sharjah UAE nationals studying in the Community College in Sharjah, Khorfakkan, Kalba, Dibba al Hisn or Maleiha are granted a tuition scholarship in accordance with the regulations in effect at the University.
Discount for Programs in the College of Sciences (Physics, Chem- istry, and Mathematics): The University offers a 50% discount on tuition fees to students who enroll in the basic science programs offered by the College of Sciences. The discount continues as long as the student obtains a CGPA (cumulative grade point average) of
‘B’ at the end of each academic year.
Nursing Discount: The University awards a 50% discount to UAE residents admitted to the Nursing Program or the Bridging Post- Diploma Program in accordance with regulations in effect at the University.
Financial Aid: The University offers financial aid on a semester basis to enrolled students who are in need of such assistance in accordance with regulations in effect at the University. Student Education Fund: The University seeks to extend aid to students on a limited income and to contribute to their tuition in- stallments.
Athletic Scholarships: The University awards tuition scholarships to students who excel in sports in accordance with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, and President of the Uni- versity of Sharjah, in support of sports at the University. Grants and Sponsorship Office: The Office seeks to coordinate scholarship opportunities, document the awarding of scholarships, and support the initiatives of sponsoring organizations and donors to ensure the realization of ultimate humanitarian assistance and offering high quality education to help academically successful students accomplish their future career aspirations.

Colleges and admission requirements:
1- Applicants are assigned their majors according to the follow- ing: The capacity of each college, the student’s preference for majors and the student’s grade average.
2- The applicant should not have been expelled from the University of Sharjah or any other educational institution for academic or disciplinary reasons.
3- The applicant’s degree should be obtained within minimum of one (1) year from the date of graduation on the High School Cer- tificate to join the Medicine and Dentistry colleges, and mini- mum of three (3) years to join any of other programs. 4- The grade averages below represent the minimum required

About Uos
The University of Sharjah was established as a non-profit institu- tion for higher education in October 1997 by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University to be the first university in the Emirate of Sharjah.
The University’s architecture lends full expression to its Islamic and Arabic heritage with splendid buildings and captivating land- scape. The campus provides spacious, outstanding facilities that include multimedia study halls, advanced scientific and research laboratories, dedicated libraries rich with information resources, state-of-the-art IT infrastructure and computing labs, theatres, clubs, two major sports complexes, student centres with access to restaurants and variety of shops, and many other facilities. - The University of Sharjah has expanded in a relatively short span of time to include 14 colleges offering more than 83 diverse academic programs (majors) at the diploma, bachelor, master and PhD levels. Discounts and financial aid:
High School Discount: The University awards a 50% tuition dis- count to students who achieve 90% or higher on their high school
certificate or its equivalence. The discount is for the first semester only (i.e. the semester during which the student joins the University) in accordance with the terms and conditions in effect at the Univer- sity and as stated in the Financial Regulations.
Excellence Discount: The University awards an ‘excellence dis- count’ of 25% to 50% to students who obtain a GPA of 3.6 or above for a given semester, which is applied to the semester once the grades appear.
Sibling Discount: Student siblings (brothers or sisters) registered at the same semester are eligible for a sibling tuition fee discount of 10% per semester for each sibling.
Tuition Discount at the UOS Branches in the Eastern Region (Khor- fakan and Kalba): The University offers a 25% tuition discount to new students studying at the UOS branches in Khorfakan and Kalba.
Community College Scholarship: Sharjah UAE nationals studying in the Community College in Sharjah, Khorfakkan, Kalba, Dibba al Hisn or Maleiha are granted a tuition scholarship in accordance with the regulations in effect at the University.
Discount for Programs in the College of Sciences (Physics, Chem- istry, and Mathematics): The University offers a 50% discount on tuition fees to students who enroll in the basic science programs offered by the College of Sciences. The discount continues as long as the student obtains a CGPA (cumulative grade point average) of
‘B’ at the end of each academic year.
Nursing Discount: The University awards a 50% discount to UAE residents admitted to the Nursing Program or the Bridging Post- Diploma Program in accordance with regulations in effect at the University.
Financial Aid: The University offers financial aid on a semester basis to enrolled students who are in need of such assistance in accordance with regulations in effect at the University. Student Education Fund: The University seeks to extend aid to students on a limited income and to contribute to their tuition in- stallments.
