Oral & Maxillofacial Rehabilitation (OMR 423)

Objectives:

1. Summary of main learning outcomes for students enrolled in the course:

Recognise basic fundamental of complete denture prosthodontics.

Develop of clinical skills in the use of all instruments and materials for complete denture construction.

Explain all clinical and laboratory steps required for complete denture fabrication.

Describe the basic principles, techniques, and rational of sound prosthodontic treatment.

Present a step by step procedure for each clinical step scheduled during complete denture construction..

Grasp training in managing cases of recent and long standing edentuluism.

Recognize the most common clinical errors during complete denture construction.

Course Content:

i. Description of the knowledge to be acquired

a. Recognise basic fundamental of complete denture prosthodontics.

b. Develop of clinical skills in the use of all instruments and materials for complete denture construction.

c. Explain all clinical and laboratory steps required for complete denture fabrication.

d. Describe the basic principles, techniques, and rational of sound prosthodontic treatment.

e. Present a step by step procedure for each clinical step scheduled during complete denture construction..

f. Grasp training in managing cases of recent and long standing edentuluism.

g. Recognize the most common clinical errors during complete denture construction.

Diagnose the clinical findings and relate them with the radiographic interpretation.

Deliver a complete denture that is biocompatible with the supporting and limiting oral tissues.

Understand the serviceability of complete denture with regular recall clinical appointments.
