Developing museums during the peace period through my work as a former director of museum affairs and saving museum holdings in Syrian museums during the war period through my work as Director General of Antiquities and Museums.

Participation as an expert for UNESCO to develop the emergency plan and Protect the National Museum and world heritage sites in Sudan during 2019.

The philosophy in the work as DG between (2012-2017) is:

During his tenure as a Director General of Antiquities and Museums – in the most violent and dangerous periods of the Syrian war – we have adopted a vision aimed at protecting and saving the Syrian archaeological heritage from danger and disappearance. Our objective was successfully attained through the collaboration of Syrian people, archaeological experts and the local community in the regions which witnessed bloody events. Moreover, the rescue action plan that was adopted resulted in securing majority of museum treasures and transferring them to safe places in the capital city Damascus.

4- Cultural Heritage Rescue Prize Venice 2014:

The International Campaign entitled "The Forgotten Victim in Syria", launched in Rome in mid-February 2014, offered a prize for the person or organization who has done most to protect Syria's heritage. The "Cultural Heritage Rescue Prize Venice 2014" aimed to attract the public in Europe and the world towards preventing the destruction of cultural heritage in Syria.

The first edition of this “courageous” award was held in Venice on October 25, 2014, in the Palazzo Ducale (Ducal Palace), and the prize was awarded to me (as a General- Director of DGAM) for the efforts to protect art and culture during Syria’s crisis.
