RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
The project Film Editing: Knowledge, Practice, Scholarship looks at different discourses about film editing with two main aims: to draw connections between them and to identify some of the problematic areas and potential knowledge gaps. Such careful and detailed research on film editing is important, as first, it examines different creative and
strategical functions of editing in various established theories. Moreover, this study pays special attention to practice-led theoretical thinking with focus on practitioners’ writing and interviews. My attempt to examine interviews with film editors both in literature review and in the practical part of the study suggests an important move towards closer dialogue between the practitioners and academia.
