135B. Course Objectives and Learning Outcomes
1. Course Description:
This course is to introduce the students to integrate basic medical and dental sciences of four
disciplines (oral biology, microbiology, immunology, oral pathology and radiology); in order to
understand the normal development and normal structures of teeth, the principles of dental caries
and its complications and how these integrated knowledge must be applied for patient care
during his/her practice of dentistry.

2. Course Main Objective:
The goal of this course is to allow the student to integrate basic medical and dental sciences of five disciplines (oral biology, oral pathology, microbiology, immunology, and radiology); in order to understand the normal development and normal structures of teeth, the principles of dental caries and its complications and how these integrated knowledge must be applied for patient care during his/her practice of dentistry.
