Scientific Lecture about "Terahertz Technology" at AAU
In cooperation with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the College of Engineering and IT at AAU, based in Al Ain, organized a scientific lecture on "Terahertz Technology”, which was presented by Dr. Vankata Sarma, a professor at the National Institute of Technology - India, in the presence of faculty members and students.
Dr. Nazih Khadaj Mallat, who is the Deputy Dean of the College of Engineering and IT at AAU, the chair of IEEE UAE "Microwave Theory and Techniques" Chapter and a member of IEEE UAE ExCom has welcomed and thanked Dr. Vankata Sarma on behalf of the university for taking on the call.
Dr. Sarma has explained the terahertz applications for medical purposes, which is harmless towards humans. It’s also useful in photography, short communications, science spectra and the discovery of weapons hidden under clothing.
Dr. Nazih Mallat expressed the university’s keenness in organizing such periodic scientific meetings on an international level and its role in community service and world communication.
