Purpose: The main purpose of this study is to estimate the impact of e-learning and teaching on the academic performance of the students in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Pearson's correlation matrix estimates the association of the variables and its estimates are: the ratio between AC and TM is 0.879.

Background of the study

In addition to this, the universities are also considered to be the most important player for the digitization of the economy by preparing the students who excel in technology. These integrations in the educational institutions were considered the most important for the better and blended learning of the students (Awofeso, Hassan, & Hamidi, 2016).

Research problem

In addition, it may also be one of the main reasons that the motivation level of the students and teachers to adopt the e-learning process (Al-Azawei, Parslow, & Lundqvist, 2016). It is mentioned by Alhazbi, (2016) the PHEI instead of finding the solutions of this problem through social factors, it has labeled most of the students as "low achieving school leavers" which has also become one of the most.

Gap of the study

Research Objectives

To evaluate the behavior of students and teachers regarding the introduction of technology in educational institutions. To assess the need for implementation of the technology in the international schools in Dubai.

Research Questions

To assess the effects of students' e-learning and blended learning on their academic performance.

Significance of the study

The importance of using technology and adaptability of e-learning and blended learning will be expressed in this study. In this way, this study will significantly help students, teachers, parents and policy makers to increase the quality of education at the school level.

Design of the study

In this context, this study will be very useful and useful for students, teachers and parents. At the same time, this study will enable teachers to increase their technological skills, to effectively cope with technology.

Introduction

Blended learning

Blended learning techniques are most commonly used in adult education or higher education. Meanwhile, the number of studies is also increasing strongly in the higher education system of the United Kingdom.

Advantages of Blended Learning

Improved outcomes

The blended learning also becomes a peculiar reason for the higher number of student retention and increased number of passed students. Furthermore, it was also found by Hung, (2015) that after implementing blended learning techniques to support these.

Strategic use of classroom time

On the other hand, the results of the blended learning techniques are directly related to the level of motivation, the students' capacity and their use of these strategies. At the same time, the adoption of blended learning also becomes a big challenge for the students who have been transformed from the traditional learning techniques to the blended learning techniques.

Measuring course outcomes

Measuring student engagement

Behaviour: The behavioral engagement of the students is related to the actions of the students. Emotional: The emotional involvement is related to the most effective responses of the students in response to their learning.

Cognitive Learning Theories

Similarly, measures of cognitive engagement mainly rely on the items of the questionnaire to evaluate whether the learners used thoughtful or superficial learning approaches (Yeou, 2016). Because of this, connecting important ideas takes enough time to build understanding among the students. Cooperative teaching is useful in English courses (Fredricks, Blumenfeld & Paris 2004) because it serves the diversity of the students.

Studies on the Usage of Technology

Fredricks, Blumenfeld and Paris (2004) investigated the effect of using computers in a technical high school in Abu Dhabi on the students of the 10th grade to evaluate their performance in writing. In this way, the research results showed that the use of the computers in English language teaching to improve the effectiveness of the written text. Due to the use of the computers, the students were extremely motivated and felt encouraged to learn the language.

Studies on Blended Learning

In addition to this, the teacher can also concentrate on their efforts for the facilitation to guide the experience of the learning process among the students. Likewise, students from higher education can be more self-determining, self-directed and inspired to adopt the blended learning techniques. The study subjects consisted of 120 teachers and technology experts.

Research Methodology

Research Philosophy

  • Positivism
  • Realism
  • Interpretivism
  • Pragmatism

According to the concept of interpretation philosophy, procedures and the results of the study are influenced by the beliefs and thoughts of the researchers, according to the current situations, such consequences are interpreted (Humphrey and Economou, 2015). This particular study follows the positivist philosophy because the researcher does not influence the consequences of the research and remains neutral during the conduct of this study. It has been observed that the deterministic worldview stated that this philosophy is most commonly applied in the natural sciences.

Research Approaches

Deductive Research Approach

According to this research approach, research results will be accepted, both the research hypothesis and the theory are rejected or accepted (Mihas, P., 2019).

Inductive Research Approach

Deductive research approach already selected and selected research theory and hypothesis are being evaluated and tested to provide justifications based on multiple research designs. This particular research study follows the deductive research approach because according to the selected theory, data is further collected. In addition, the researcher does not influence the findings and consequences of the study despite the acceptance and rejection of the theory and hypothesis.

Research Strategies

  • Experimental Research
  • Action Research
  • Case Study Research
  • Grounded Theory
  • Surveys
  • Ethnography
  • Archival Research

In addition, the survey is used in situations in which ad hoc reactions and actions of subjects are evaluated. Survey research study is used in this particular research study to collect and analyze data. Moreover, a survey research study helps to gather information based on an individual within a short period of time.

Research Choices

Mono-Method

Once the data is collected, it will not be collected again during the entire research process. Data is collected in numerical form in the quantitative research technique while the qualitative data collection technique involves the descriptive type of data which is further coded for analysis.

Introduction

Data Analysis

  • Reliability Test
  • Descriptive statistics
  • Pearson Correlation Matrix
  • Observational Tool in qualitative method
  • How data analysis is carried in qualitative method (observation)
  • Interviews to students and teachers

According to the above table 4.3, the correlation between variables is highly significant at the 0.01 level. Moreover, this figure represents that the ratio between AC and BL is at the level of 0.889. Therefore, the teacher – the observer could say – thought carefully about planning this lesson, and so she created QR codes that would direct the students as they scanned them to a very short video (ie 1 minute or so) that the teacher explains how you get a better result in that question.

Discussion

Research Question 1

In addition, blended learning and teaching techniques also have positive impacts on student performance and student satisfaction, which are reported by students themselves. The United Arab Emirates (UAE)" is being considered as a leader in the Middle East region. In addition, student dropout rates decreased immediately after the implementation of blended learning at the college level, and the number of students who completed their work increased.

Research Question 2

In the same way, the previous studies also found challenges among the students in the international schools of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Moreover, the failure of the adoption of technology can also be one of the main reasons why the motivation level of the students and teachers adopt the e-learning process (Al-Azawei, Parslow, & Lundqvist, 2016). Nevertheless, other researchers see the meanings of the technology when it is properly used to influence the success of the learners (Thai, De Wever & Valcke, 2017).

Research Question 3

In addition, student engagement remains at a higher level due to more divergence in activities during their lessons (McCutcheon, et al., 2015). In addition, the teacher can also focus on their determinations for help in order to direct the learning process skills to the students. Moreover, there is a wide level of sustainability for promoting technology for the purpose of teaching where the process of less oppression is involved.

Summary

Introduction

Conclusion

Subsequently, this research has shown that blended learning has a positive impact on the academic performance of the students. This research also showed that the academic performance of the students is the most important factor for the government. These integrations in the educational institutions were considered most important for better and blended learning of the students (Awofeso, Hassan, & Hamidi, 2016).

Limitations of the study

In addition to this, it can also be one of the most important reasons that the motivation level of the students and teachers to implement the e-learning process (Al-Azawei, Parslow, & Lundqvist, 2016). The quantitative data collection techniques and data analysis techniques are not as useful as discovering the reasons and impact of the blended learning and teaching on the academic performance of the students. Furthermore, the cross-sectional data is collected for this study which also increased in the limitation of the study.
