It can be argued that a new paradigm has developed that is centered around the idea of a metaverse (Mystakidis, 2022). Neal Stephenson's science fiction book Snow Crash (Stephenson, 2003) describes the idea of the Metaverse, which he coined in 1992. Stephenson is credited with introducing the concept of the Metaverse to the world (Duan et al., 2021).
However, Metaverse quickly gained notoriety after Mark Zuckerberg formalized the Metaverse project in October 2021 (Tlili et al., 2022). Real people or virtual characters can be one's companions or friends in the Metaverse (Díaz, Saldaña & Avila, 2020; Kye et al., 2021). The potential of the Metaverse and artificial intelligence also opens up new roles for intelligent non-player characters (NPCs), including tutors, peers, and tutors (Hwang & Chien, 2022). However, it is gradually becoming clear that the idea of Metaverse is not without problems and limitations (Minocha & Reeves, 2010). Since Metaverse is a decentralized Internet environment, its computer security appears to be lacking (Discover Hub Pages, 2022; Baltaş, 2022). As a result, Metaverse's supervision should be improved, and relevant rules and regulations should be created and promptly updated (Ning et al., 2021).
The true identity and the Metaverse are closely linked (Ning et al., 2021). In fact, privacy and security in the Metaverse demand our attention. Blockchain storage for digital twins from Metaverse and biometric data is a conceivable direction (Ryskeldiev et al., 2018).
It follows that the same group is most likely to adopt the Metaverse. Establishing verifiable privacy protection measures is one of the main issues that Metaverse needs to address in order for society to adopt it (Lee et al., 2021). Problematic use of Metaverse and user addiction are issues that are difficult to address and overcome.
However, it is uncertain whether the creators of Metaverse will be able or willing to include such filters.
CONCLUSION
Numerous studies have been written on whether artificial intelligence objects should be given separate legal personality. It may be practical to give the avatars in the Metaverse the rights and obligations that a human would have in the real world. Doing this task requires the assistance of machine learning algorithms that will allow the avatars to complete routine tasks without human assistance (Cheong, 2022).
The Metaverse environment will contribute significantly to directed and undirected learning processes, educational simulations, social learning environments, and distance learning due to its engaging, interesting, and fun features. It is also clear that new chances can be offered to students with disabilities and/or those who have difficulty accessing learning resources in terms of providing equal opportunities in education in a Metaverse environment where physical boundaries are removed. However, incorporating any new technology into the classroom can lead to problems with instructional technology.
There are issues with, in particular, how to create effective instructional designs for the Metaverse environment, how learning will occur, and how to conduct effective assessment and evaluation. Since Metaverse is a brand new technological entity, all parties participating in education must accept the technical framework, including students, teachers,. The components and architecture of the Metaverse have not yet been fully developed and implemented because the concept is new.
However, the technology that involves the sensory organs in the process must be more useful and cheaper for students to live and let this experience fully and satisfactorily in learning contexts. National and international cooperation should be created so that Metaverse can function appropriately in learning contexts and utilize the resources allocated for this. To develop the appropriate technology, software, content and human resources, academic and non-academic parties must collaborate and carefully organize the process.
