Summary
TWo species of endophytic fungi Pseuderotium and Epicoccum were identified from the stems of Citrus maxima (Burm.) Men. Some strains of Epicoccum and Pseuderotium were isolated from Citrus maxima (Burm.) Merr. and determined capable of producing secondary metabolites of microcidal activity a by disc diffusion. Besides, an appropriate composition and favorable condition of culture were established for high productivity of the metabolites against Staphylococcus aureus. Streptococcus fecalis, Pseudomonas and MRSA: Carbon source - 4% glucose; nitrogen sources - 20% potatoes; and incubation - at room temperature for seven days. Preliminary experiments proved ethyl acetate rather suitable for extraction of the antibacterial compounds.
