Abstract: The paper investigates spillovers between world oil and Vietnam stock markets during the 2008-2009 financial crisis. Using Copula functions, the author did not find any evidence of the co-movement between oi prices and stock returns. Thus, there is no spillover effects between those markets. The empirical results suggest important policy implications for risk management and macroeconomics policies in the period of oil price shocks.
