CORNEAL THICKNESS MEASUREMENT W I T H ULTRASOUND PACHYMETER Objective: Evaluation of corneal thickness and analysis of the factors related to the corneal thickness of patients seen at the national eye hospital.

thickness by ultrasound technique with Alcon pachymeter in patients aged from 18 without having acute ocular diseases.

Results: The study was conducted in 274 patients (548 eyes), aged from 18 to 79. The average corneal thickness was 0.034 ± 0.526 mm. Corneal thickness Is associated with age (older patients have reduced corneal thickness) and corneal refractive power (the corneal thickness was highest in corneas of less 44 D and lowest in corneas of above 45 D), the difference is statistically significant (p <0.05). No significant difference of corneal thickness by gender, nght or left eye, and axial length.

Conclusion: Ultrasound measurement of corneal thickness is an essential exploration in in ophthalmology. It is necessary to perform the technique properly to ensure accurate measurements without affecting the cornea.

II. OOI Tl/QNG VA PHirONG PHAP NGHIEN CLTU 2 . 1 . Tieu chulin lu'a chon benh nhan:

2.2. Tieu chuan loai truT: benh nhan dang cd benh cap tfnh tai mUt, benh nhan khong phoi hdp trong khi kham.

Cac b$nh nhan duHc chia theo 3 nhdm tuoi:

du'di 4 1 tuoi, 4 1 den 60 tuoi va tren 60 tuoi.

Khuc xa giac mac du'dc chia thanh 3 nhdm:

du'di 40 D, >40 D den 46 D, va tren 46 D. Dp dai true nhan a u du'dc chia thanh 4 nhdm: du'di 22mm, 22 den 2 4 m m , > 24 den 26mm, tren 26mm. Nhan ap du'dc chia thanh 3 nhdm: du'di 15 den 18mm Hg, 19 den 20mm Hg, 21 den 23mm Hg.

Dung cu do dp day giac mac du'dc sir dung trong nghien ciTu la may do dp day giac mac (pachymeter) ciia Alcon cd nhu'ng dac diem sau:

- Dau do du'dng kinh 1,5 mm va gap goc cho phep de quan sat hdn.

~ Tan so: 20 MHZ.

- Gidi han d o : 0,2 mm - 1,3 m m . - Do chinh xac: ± 5 micron.

- Bd nhd Idn: cho phep IU\J giff tir 1 den 33 so do.

- Cd nhieu che dp do, hien dong thdi so do thi/c te va sd do cai dat theo yeu cau.

2 . 3 . Phu'dng p h a p d o :

Dat benh nhan nam tren ban kham, tra thuoc te tai mat dicain 1 % 2 lan. Yeu cau benh nhan m d to mat, nhin thang phia tren.

Dat dau do tiep tuyen vdi t m n g tam giac mac, khi dau do tiep xiic dung thi se cd mpt tiep bip ngan va so do hien ngay, neu khdng de che dp tu" dpng thi phai an ban dap mdi hien so do.

Neu dau do tiep xuc khdng t o t thi se cd tieng tut keo dai va khong hien so d o . Sau khi do d trung t a m , may se tu" dpng chuyen sang vj t r i do khac.

Do 5 lan d moi mat, in ra ket qua do va chpn so do hdp ly.

Nghien ciTu mo ta va so sanh cat ngang. Sit dung phan mem thong ke Medcalc 12.1 de phan tich ket qua nghien ciTu.

III. K E T Q U A

So benh nhan du'dc kham la 274 ngu'di (548 mat). Tuoi ciia cac benh nhan trong khoang tir 18 den 79. Nhffng benh nhan nay bao gom: mat binh thu'dng, mat can thj, mat due the thiiy tinh tuoi gia. Nhan ap cua ta ca cac benh nhan trong khoang tff 15 den 23 mm Hg. Khuc xa giac mac du'dc chia thanh 3 nhdm: du'di 44 D, 44 D den 45 D, va tren 45 D. Dp dai true nhan cau du'dc chia thanh 4 nhdm: du'di 22 m m , 22 den <24 m m , 24

Dp day giac mac trung tam trung binh do dlTcIc ia 0,526 mm ± 0,034. So do nay xap xi ket qua do bang phu'dng phap quang hoc cua nhieu tac gia ishac (Bang 3). Sff chenh lech dang ke va cd y nghia thong ke giffa so toi da va sd tdi thieu (0,610 mm so vdi 0,442 mm) la mot yeu to dang lu'u y. V. KET LUAN

Do dp day giac mac la mdt kham nghiem can thiet de giup cho chan doan va dieu tri trong nhan khoa. Phffdng phap do bang sieu am cho ket qua chinh xac neu thffc hien diing ki thuat.

Dp day giac mac trung tam trung binh la 0,500 den 0,550 m m . Dp day giac mac cd thay doi nhe theo tuoi va dp khuc xa ciia mat.
