Abstract: Estimation of the relative motion befween target ship and own ship is a base to make a correct decision for preventing collision between them. In this paper, the formulae, which are used for calculating relative motion ttetween 2 ships before and after action of avoiding collision, are made. These formulae are applied In making an aid for preventing collision at sea.
