Summary
From Cinnamomum tonkinensis collected in Vu Quang National Pari< (Ha Tinh province, Vietnam) in Juanary 2010, the leaf essential oils were steam-distilled (yielding 0.75%) and analyzed by Capillary GC and GC/MS. Thirty one components were identified accounting for more than 95.2% of the oil. The major constituents were cinnamyl aldehyde (326%), ^phellandrene (14.7%), a- pinene (12.5%), linalool (11.3%); the minor group of the predominant compounds included f3-pinene (7.5%), 1,8-cineole (2.5%), p-ocymene (1.6%), myrcene (1.9%,), benzyl benzoate (1.6%,), ^ caryophyllene (1.4%), sabinene (1.1%,) and a- terpineol(1.1%).
