TOMTAT

Ma ddu: Viet Nam nam tiong n)wm nude co tif le benh ddi thdo dieong (DTD) tdng nlianh nlmi tren the giai. Ngfiiem phdp dung ngp glucose duang umg Id mot trong ba cdch gidp chdn dodn DTD vd la cdch dephdt hiin tien DTD. Tuy nhien, thai gian 2 gia can cho viec thuc hien nghiem phdp Id khd Idu vd Id mgt trong nhihig rdo cdn doi vai viec ieng dung nghiem phdp ndy trong thiec tenen can thiei phdi ddnh gid Idid ning cdi tieh.

Muc tiett: Xdc dfnh ian suat rm logn dung ngp glucose vd khd ndng rut ngan thai gian thuc him nghiem phdp dung ngp glucose.

PREVALENCE OF PRE-DIABETES BY ORAL GLUCOSE TOLERANCE TEST AND THE PROBABILTTY OF SHORTERNING TEST TIME

prevalmce of pre-diabetes are veiy important while there are few studies about it in Vietnam. Oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT)is one ofthe ways to diagnose diabetes diseases and pre-diabetes. 2-hour test time is too long for using this test in community and needs to be improved.

Objective: To define the prevalence qf pre-diabetes by using OGTT and to evaluate the probability of shortening test time.

Method: Cross-sectional study on 98 students practicing at Department of Physiology in the University of Medicine and Pharmacy at HCMC.

Results: The prevalence (^impaired glucose tolerance (pre-diabetes) by using OGTT was 26.5%. Theixwere correlations between this prevalence and family history qf pre-diabetes, diabetes (RR=2.69) and state of playing sport (3.23). We also noted that the higher age was, the higher this prevalmce was. This study shoioed that there was a probability qf shortening tesf time and this might be usedfor people having normal result at 90"' minute qf test The prevalmce qf people who can be stopped at 90'' minute of test was 49%.

Dai thao dudng (DTD) la mdt rdi loan chuyen hda do nhieu nguyen nhan phuc tap.

Ddi tugng dupc chan doan la cd mac tien dai thao dudng khi ket qua tiiuc hien do:

- Glucose liic ddi la tiong khoang > 100 mg/dl den < 126 mg/dl (5,6-7,0 mmolA)

- Hoac nghiem phap dung nap glucose bang dudng udng tir > 140mg/dl den < 200 mg/dl. (7,8- 11,1 mmol/1) va dudng huyet liic ddi < 126 mg/dl (7,0 mmolA)

Theo nghien ciiu ciia Dd Thi Tinh®, huyet ap ddng mgch, chi so khdi co the va chi so vdng eo/vdng hdng a i a nhdm DTD va roi loan dung ngp glucose deu cao hon so vdi nhdm ngudi Hnh thudng.

Tuy nhien, khi xet rieng cac tnrdng hgp dugc danh gia la binh thudng d phiit 90, chiing tdi ghi nhgn cd 48 doi tugng nghien ciiu cd miic dudng huyet trd ve binh thudng d thdi diem nay, trong dd cd 93,7% (n=45) dat gia tri binh thudng cho den khi tiiuc hien xong nghiem phap (phiit 120).

N h u vgy, cd mdt ti le cao cac trudng hgp cd gia tri binh thudng d phiit 90 va duy tii d a i phiit 120. Do dd, ta cd tiie can nhae d&i kha nang nit ngan thdi gjan thuc hien nghiem phap glucose tir 120 phiit cdn 90 phiit danh cho cac doi tirgng cd ket qua binh thudng tai thdi diem 90 phiit.

Dieu na\' cd y nghia quan trpng vi nd gdp phan gjiip ich cho cac nha nghien ciiu lam sang, dich te hgc \'a doi tugng tham gia nghien ciiu. Doi vdi cac nha nghien ciiu, khi nghiem phap dupc nit ngan se gdp phan giam chi phi va tiidi gian.
