Summary
This work was conducted to evaluate Pluronic F127-based thermoresponsive diclofenac sodium ophthalmic in situ gels (DS in situ gel) prepared by cold method. Physicochemical properties of the obtained gels, i. e. flow ability sol-gel transition temperature, gelling capacity and rheological properties, were investigated, which all proved to be remarkably affected by the formulation compositions. Increment of Pluronic F127 content decreased sot-gel transition temperature of the products while increase in Pluronic F68 concentration tended to increase sol-get transition temperature. Notably, Carbopol 934 did not affect sol-gel transition temperature but affected transparency pH, and gelling capacity rS

the products. The final formulation exhibited sol-gel transition at 34.5 ± 0.2°C with DS in situ gel had potential for use as an alternative to the conventional diclofenac sodium eye drop.

Dung djch in situ gel natn diclofenac (DIG) d u a c bao c h i bdng phuang phap lanh. Cho t d t u carbopol 934 vao dung djch dem phosphat pH 6,0 de qua dem cho truong nd hoan toan. Antibacterial activity of the water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes (Mart.) Solms) was investigated.
Water hyacinth plants growing in stagnant waters exhibited stronger antibacterial activities than those growing in flowing waters. The stolon showed containing most of the antibacterial active principles The antibacterial spectrum was relatively broad, covering both Gram (+) and Gram (-) bacteria. The plant exctracts proved antibacterial activity more potent on Gram (+) bacteria than on Gram (-) bacteha. Of them, MRSA Staphylococcus aureus was the most sensitive bacterial strain while Escherichia coli was the least sensitive, even less sensitive than Pseudomonas aeruginosa which is of high resistance to many antibiotics in clinic.
