Background, to find out some elements related epidemiology of pterygium
Patients: 63 patients diagnosed pterygium and treated at of ophthalmologic of 103 Hospital and Institute of Aviation Medicine 7/2008 to 4/2009 (msident in hospital)
Method: Cross - Obsen/ation stady.
Conclusion: Pterygium heavily concentrated in age> 40 (96 8%), mainly in the age gmup> 50 (77.8%).
The ratio between male and female patients was similar (33/30 = 52 3%/47.7%).
The majonty of pterygium of the inside comer of eye (90.9%), only 9 1% is double pterygium. This diffemnce is statistically significant (p <0.001).
68.3% of patients have working environment with regular exposure to factors such as wind, dust, ultmviolet mys (fanner, soldiers).

SUMMARY
Objective: 1) To compare quality of specimens between two cytological testing methods Llqui Pmp and classical Pap smear 2) To assess diagnostic accumcy by comparing the results obtained by two methods Llqui Pmp and classical Pap smear with histopathological diagnostic msult Subjects and methods: This is a cmss-sectional descriptive comparative study conducted on 60 women who have mceived gynecological check-up at the National ONGYN Hospital and tested by two methods Liqui Pmp and classical Pap smear fmm November 2012 to January 2013. Results: The rates of well-pmpamd
specimens of Liqui Prep and classical Pap smear were 79.9% and 63.3%. respectively. The rates of specimens felt below standard of classical Pap smear was significantly (p<0.05) higher than LiquiPrep (15.0% to 6.7%, respectively). By classical Pap smear, false negative rate among the LSIL cases was 11.0%, while false positive rate was 17.3%. The false positive rate among the HSIL cases was 16.7%. The the Liqui-Prep, false negative rate among the LSIL cases was 8-0% while false positive rate was 9.0%.
The false positive rate among the HSIL cases was 10.0%. Conclusion: Liqui-Prep method provides higher quality of specimens with higher sensitivity compamd to the classical Pap smear
