SUMMARY

Pectate lyase cleaves a-1,4 glycosidic linkages of polygalacturonate m plant cell wall by fl-eliminalion product oligogalacturonates, fonning unsaturated linkages between C4 and C5 in reducing sugar. Recently, pectate lyase have been used in several industry such as textile processing, paper and pulp industry, oil extraction, coffee and tea feimentations. Recombinant pectate lyase of BaciH\e subtilis (rPel) have used to remove pectin from raw cotton fabnc. The resulting shown that pectin from raw cotton fabric could be removed well by rPel. Usmg 2% of rPel in buffer lead to decomposition ef^cient of pectin from raw cotton &bric, equivalent to IK of commercial enzyme BioPrq) 3000L (Novozymes) in the same processing conditions. The treatment of pectin from raw cottos fabric by rPel in temperature 42°C requires at least one hour incubation to achieve maximum efficiency.
