Member of: International Society for Jurisprudence (1984-2005); International Anglo-Boer War Society (1988-2005); the Center for the study of Federalism: Easton PA (1995-2004); the South African Society for Legal Historians (1982-2004); the South African Academy for Science and Arts(1994-2005); the Theme Committee 2 of the Constitutional Assembly for investigating the principle of self-determination and making recommendations for inclusion in the Final Constitution (1994-1996). Council member, chairperson, executive member of the Society for Christian Higher Education (1987- 2005). Member of the editorial board of the Journal for Christian Scholarship; Member of the editorial board of Koers; Member of the editorial board of the Journal for Juridical Science; Chairperson of the editorial committee of the accredited book Pro Lege, Grege et Rege. Has authored approximately 150 research articles in accredited journals, and 150 articles in other journals. Inclusion in the Marquis Who’s Who in the World – Chronicle of Human Achievement – for outstanding scholarly achievement for 2004/2005. Nominated for inclusion in the “2000 Outstanding Intellectuals of the 21st Century”, by the International Biographical Centre, Cambridge for 2005. Abroad: 1 co-presented with Shaun de Freitas in Zurich August 2004 at the Bullinger Tagung on the contribution of Heinrich Bullinger (1504-1575) to political and legal philosophy.
Responsible for the course Administrative Law (PBR 324); two courses in Jurisprudence (INR 414 & 424); the module MGT 710 in the Master’s Program for Governance in the
2 Department of Political Science. Served as supervisor for numerous masters and doctoral theses.
