In the second chapter of this thesis, there is a detailed description of Angola from geography to its minerals, which fuel the conflict, finance the war (on both sides), which is the main cause of the diaspora in Angola. I declare that this dissertation has not been presented at any other university for a degree and that it represents the author's own original research. He believed that education could change people's lives, so he sent all 11 of his children to school.

In the search, writing and compilation of this work I have been carried and assisted on more than one side in one of the busiest and most strenuous years I have ever experienced. Buchner for his advice, encouragement, correction of the manuscripts, criticism, translation of Kraus and direction. He opened the doors of his office for consultations so that this thesis could finally come to a conclusion.

Jose Belo Chipenda, the Secretary General of the Evangelical Congregational Church in Angola (I.E.C.A.) for his tireless efforts. A grant from the University of Durban-Westville Research Administration is hereby gratefully acknowledged.

Psalm 74 and Angola 5.1: - Introduction

Chapter One

The writer, an Angolan, also suffers from the consequences of the diaspora and also identifies with the many other Angolans who have been displaced by the war situation in the country. Bellville (1996:61) says that Angola is considered to have one of the richest mineral reserves among the countries of Southern Africa. The Gove Dam on the Huambo course of the Cunene River was completed with South African capital.

Cravinho (1998:63) says that after independence, construction came to a standstill, except for the reconstruction of some of the 130 bridges destroyed in the war. All the state's resources are directed to the purchase of weapons and the costs of the army. Henderson says this scenario changed with the arrival of Protestant missionaries who taught in the vernacular.

In the researcher's perspective, what happened to the mission stations at the beginning of the new government indicated that the new leadership was not prepared to manage the country with its diversity of understandings. The role of the church in the conflict is discussed as well as its confrontations with the state.

Chapter Three

These revolutions did not occur without changes in the social, religious, cultural and political outlook of the population. This escalation of the refugee crisis worldwide today, despite technological advances and calls for world peace initiatives, points to something. The medical situation of the large displaced populations in each of these countries is difficult to imagine.

In the world of humanity this mass movement of people in search of security and dignity is the result of many years of the Cold War. Due to the industrial revolution in Europe, there was a great need for more production of raw materials for the colonizing countries. The second reason was the exploitation of the colony that depended on the availability of free black labor.

This made the movement very popular among the common people who felt the atrocities of the colonial powers on their skin. This kind of imposition does not help Africa to assert itself as a valuable partner to the rest of the nations of the world. There is a great variety of victims of war - the hungry, the homeless, the sick, the blind.

The researcher infers from what Weiner said that most of the world's population flow since World War II has not simply occurred; they are made to happen. Many of these Angolans are settled in the countries where they live, but the majority live only because of the good will of many governments. The researcher brings to light how some of the displaced are treated by the citizens of the host countries.

Furthermore, the citizens of the country where they seek refuge discriminate against the refugees. After looking at the symptomatology of the refugees, the researcher now discusses the impact that religion plays on the refugees, looking at what happened in the Lamentations and the dynamics of the experience of loss. After looking at the phenomenon of displacement and the problem affecting some of the African countries, the author concludes by saying that: 1) displacement is a universal human condition;.

Chapter Four

Angolan songs and symbols of disorientation

Many Angolans repeat the words of disorientation found in the psalmist's mouth over and over again. In this study, a clear connection is found between Psalm 74 and the songs as well as the comments from the ordinary Angolan citizen on the street. But in both cases one can see the faith in God's deliverance of the Israelites (Ps. 74) as well as the believers in Angola (religious songs).

In the case of Angola, little has been done in terms of promoting healthy coexistence between the different ethnic groups. In doing so they try to obscure the true dimension of the Angolan peoples. Here again one draws the conclusion that just as the Jews suffered because of the social, political and economic structure of their country and (later) their faith in Christ, so some Angolans suffer in the same way.

It is true that one of the problems in Angola is the question of cultures. The researcher's question for the conclusion was: What are the conclusions that can be drawn from the research related to the problem of the Angolan 'exiles'. Thirdly, there is therefore no sign of promoting healthy coexistence between the different ethnic groups in Angola.

In the exegesis of Psalm 74, it is clear that the Israelites in exile were pushed out of their own land by foreign forces, the Babylonians, who entered it. From this covenant flow blessings to all, both the people and those who are physically or spiritually disabled. there can be no shame with the presence of the 'enemy' in the land. In exile, the Israelites (some of them) got positions in the hierarchy of the Babylonian state and lived a better life than in their own country.

They developed written literature as well as a certain culture that became the culture of the post-exilic community. One of the reasons why the author feels this way is the fact that people who don't. In the school of the world as in that of love, we must begin with the practical exercise of what we want to learn."
