Subject: For Dr Van Zyl Slabbert
Dear Heather
Financial Mail will be producing a publication to commemmorate the 1956 women's march to the Union Buildings. The publication, to be published in late June, will
feature an article on the march itself, the participants, objectives etc. This article will be written by Dr Frene Ginwala. There will also be an article comparing this march with other women's struggles in the world. We will also have a section consisting
of mini profiles on the 'Women Who Made A Difference'. We will also have 25 profiles on the most influential women in business and 250ftheir counterparts in the public sector. I've attached a brief synopsis to give you more background on the project.
I would like to ask Dr Van Zyl Slabbert to write a 500-word miniprofile on Helen Suzman to be placed in the section of the women who made a difference. We will pay him R3,50 per word and the deadline will be May 8.
If he is able to write please let me know soonest, Ntyatyi.
